if you dont have a swim grid the above bracket is awesome. just built this one for my current boat, the only thing i would do different is use round instead of square, cables less prone to catch on the round

yes you are correct, long expensive cables maybe, looking at all options and locations

Scotty or Gibbs make the best for salmon , both have 6 foot handles. also have a look at Beckman nets
