NJ fishing reports

SKUNKED!!!!

We fished Humpty at first light. Lots of bait and marks. Jigged 3 sea robbins. Went to Bacardi. Nothing. Texas tower nothing. South to fleet of boats. Nothing. Chicken pots nothing. Back to Humpty for evening bite. Birds bait rays Jigged a tinker mackerel and a squid and an anchovy. Had the mackerel and squid out live. Nothing.
Back at dock 7 pm with nothing

209 miles 120 gallons 15 hours
Nothing

Thanks for the report and bummer you didn't find them. One boat in our marina said he said he found them at 60 miles and seeing scattered reports from TT to the Tripples but that's a big area. We were thinking about making a run this weekend but it's going to blow Saturday and left over north swell on Sunday.

My buddy went to Humpty the next morning. First drop of jig hit bottom cranked handle three times, he was on. Broke off after an hour.

Sunday might be worth a try there. Big fish and we can't keep over 73"... but there are some keeper size in there.

Got out this morning with TILE WAVE on his 265Expressw/DF200 Zukes...yes just like mine! We did not catch at Little Italy but it was a beautiful boat ride.

Anyone heading out Monday or Tuesday for the last days of bluefin? I'm thinking of heading out Tuesday but trying to find where the fish have been lately.

I was out at Humpty Sunday on another boat. Early morning we caught some squid and put them out. Got a 200ish hammerhead and a 3 ft blacktip. No tuna.

ran to pots for mahi. Mud hole pots covered up in boats, no fish. Blew past them to Glory pots. Got a half dozen 2 to 4 lb mahi. They were on to the game. You catch one or two and the rest stare at you.

YFT and smaller bluefin mixed in are out 70 miles. Boats at my dock are getting them anywhere between Bacardi to triple wrecks 0R 10 miles past them or South...or north.... Wish I could say exactly. If I could I'd be posting pix of tuna!...Those guys run and gun til they find them.

Thanks for the report again, we fluke fished Rattlesnake to the Shrewsbury rocks on Saturday and Sunday and was wondering what all those boats were doing in the mud hole.
Caught our limit of small sea bass and 5 and 6 keeper fluke to 21" both days. Crazy how many short fluke out there, threw back 60+ each day with several doubles. They were really stacked up in a couple very small areas so short targeted drifts really helped.
My nephew snagged a squid on the fluke teaser, saw a small shark swim by the boat, lots of purposes in the area, great weather.

Ran out to Little Italy, Monster Ledge, Stoli area yesterday out of MI. Left the dock around 5a. Set up our spread in the general area, trolled around until 1130. Caught one bonito on a widetracker. No whales, dolphins and minimal birds. That's it for BF season, back to fluking!

Thanks for the reports. I am bailing on tomorrow as I didn't get to the dock in time to fuel the boat. Maybe some Mahi fishing later in the week.

Hey there! Anyone local to Sandy Hook/Atlantic Highlands area, hear any talk about the possible conditions coming up next week for that Tropical Storm Erin?
I am supposed to bring my boat down for 4 days to the Hook and was wondering if I was going to get caught with small craft warnings...

Even without the looming hurricane The Monday Tuesday Wednesday forecast is East winds 10+ and 4ft. Thursday predictions 12ft or more. So forget fishing next week
