I just bought a 258, I came from a 23 conquest from Boston Whaler and it's a big upgrade as far as ride quality. The Whaler is a drier ride but the Grady is a much nicer ride and feels a lot better when running. Now I've gotta just get autopilot and it'll be amazing. I would recommend the 258 you'll not want smaller if you spend a lot of time on Lake MichiganNice to see a Great Lakes Grady group!
I'm hoping to join the team next year. I'm going to run out the summer this year and start actively looking next year for a Lake Superior salmon boat.
I'm leaning towards a Journey 258 but would consider 232, 228 as well as a Tournament/Freedom 225. My wife would prefer the bowrider option.
Personally I would like the boat to be put on a trailer and would like Max beam. Hence my coming to the 258. Does anyone have experience with a 248/258 on the Great Lakes? Too much boat? Would a 228 be enough? If the right 232 came up I would definitely consider it and just pay for yearly permits for trailering to northern Michigan.
Cheers from northern Ontario!

I'm in Holland just bought a 258 JourneyNot fishing yet but will be dry docking our new 236 in Grand Haven. Any other GW owners around Grand Haven?
do you have twins or a single on your 258?Just purchased a 2015 258 Journey this spring. I've been running it mostly out of Muskegon but have been over to Sag Bay. Hoping to get a 9.9 kicker for next year as 1.5 is as low as I can get with 2 big trolling bags. Absolutely loving the boat so far. Ran 15 miles in a 2-3 foot NW chop last Thursday at 24mph pretty comfortably. Used to run a Starcraft 221 Islander so it's a whole new world. Not very hard to load and unload at the launches I have been to. Only difficulty I've run into while launching solo is short docks but it's workable. Finally having 12 inch Garmin, Fantom radar, and auto pilot being installed tomorrow. Ordered back in May and have been waiting for backorder to arrive.
