You'll enjoy the 228. Great size, good cockpit area, easy to trailer, better ride due to overall length and weight over the 208, easy solo launch and retrieve. It just does alot of the stuff I want to do very well.

New to the forum, but purchased a 226 Seafarer, 2006 last year. Kicker motor Yamaha 9.9 was a little quirky, but had the carburetor rebuilt and runs better. Have 250 Yamaha that runs great. Previous owner screwed bolts into the rod holders to secure Cannon downriggers, and need to replace them. Any advice on how to update these? Also, need to add new stripes along the side. Any ideas on where to get pin-stripe sticker kits that would match, or be very close? FishingGradyWhiteMike

Mike, I have just been using Google and searching for Grady Decals for my 208. The ones I have located are replicas but seem to look pretty close to original. Not sure if factory original is even possible, good luck.

Just purchased a 2015 258 Journey this spring. I've been running it mostly out of Muskegon but have been over to Sag Bay. Hoping to get a 9.9 kicker for next year as 1.5 is as low as I can get with 2 big trolling bags. Absolutely loving the boat so far. Ran 15 miles in a 2-3 foot NW chop last Thursday at 24mph pretty comfortably. Used to run a Starcraft 221 Islander so it's a whole new world :). Not very hard to load and unload at the launches I have been to. Only difficulty I've run into while launching solo is short docks but it's workable. Finally having 12 inch Garmin, Fantom radar, and auto pilot being installed tomorrow. Ordered back in May and have been waiting for backorder to arrive.

I am not on an official Great Lake, but on Lake Champlain I troll with one of my 150’s and a trolling bag and get down to 1.2. Switch engines next time out. Great for Lake Trout and if I remove the bag get up to salmon speeds.
