    Can't find a source. I'm at a roadblock.

It would be the same, but turned end for end. Then it would work for both port and stbd windows. I tried to research who the company was that made these. I did find a lot of extruded window hinges, but nothing that came close to this type.

    Can't find a source. I'm at a roadblock.

Thanks. I had already scoured the web trying to find something that would work. The problem is there are about 15 holes drilled where the net line goes through, and knotted on the back. Trying to find something that would use these holes is the challenge. If I could plug the holes, and pain to...

    Can't find a source. I'm at a roadblock.

Here's a photo of the hinge piece, taken of the other (port) side vent. I removed it to take this pic. I have left 3 messages at Marine Glass Specialties (Tex and George) over the last month, but no return calls, so I presume they are too swamped with work to tell me they don't have it. But I...

    Can't find a source. I'm at a roadblock.

The first item, and main problem; Freedom 255 vent window metal hinge piece. When my boat was delivered 2 months ago, the stbd side vent window, with hinge and window latch, were all missing. I can trace the port side window, and maybe find a glass company to cut and drill (for the latch), a...

Congratulations, and Well Done, Rob. I will always miss her, but know you will take care of her and enjoy her to the max.

I should have paid closer attention to your o.p. Thanks for the clarification. Enjoy your beautiful Grady.

    Heading home with my Gulfstream

Congratulations! Beautiful; one of my favorites. Did you get oversize load permits from each state that you travelel through, and did you get them on your own, or hire a company to get them all for you for a one-time total fee? Were you stopped in any state, to verify O.L permits?

    Side vent window latch

I think the case of my window being missing is when the boat was being delivered by trailer, and the previious owned saying that "the window latch screws keep comin out", what he meant was that they are stripped and the latch falls off. So that most likely happed while rolling down the Jersey...

    Seacock lube

Then I would suggest Fluid Film. it is a wax-base lubricant, and easy enough to find. Lowes & probably HD have it. Once you have it, you'll find lots of uses for it.

    Which Freedom 255/275/285

I just bought a 255 Freedom a week or so ago, downsizing from a 282 Sailfish. I love the 282, but a 255 fits our lifestyle and fishing needs better than the 282 these past few years. It will do what you're looking to do, very nicely, and I think a twin engine 255 Freedom with hardtop, fuel...

    Side vent window latch

Do you have the part number for the hinge? I just checked Taylor Made Ind. website, and they do not list a vent window hinge.

    Side vent window latch

What is the hinge on these vent windows? I'm concerned that if the hinge is bonded into the channel, removing might ruin it. on edit: I also don't know what I'm going to do about the hinge on the missing window. There is nothing in the channel where the window hinge would be. As far as I can...

Anyone know a good guy for soda-blasting

Thanks Brian. I have their website up on the computer, so I'll call them in the morning. I wonmder if it could be the same place I hired to do the bottom on my 29 Blackfin, many years ago. They were from that same area, and the guy did an outstanding job. Hope you all had a great time together...

    Side vent window latch

That's for sure. I just took delivery of a new-t--me 255 Freedom a week ago. It was transported by a boat hauler, from N.Y. to Delaware. Arrived at 9pm and next day, I notice the starboard window and latch are missing. Previous owner told me "the window latch screws keep coming out". Well I...

Anyone know a good guy for soda-blasting

As mentioned in another thread, I just bought a 25 Freedom, and the old bottom paint needs to come off. So I'm looking for someone to do it. I spoke to one guy mentioned in the other thread, (Gale Force Blasting), and he seemed interested as he said he could do it around middle of June. He was...

Re-do needed. Best method to remove bottom paint?

Pat, thanks for the info and photos. That's very nice prep and paint work; your boat looks beautiful. I'm going to call him today.

Re-do needed. Best method to remove bottom paint?

"Probably goes against your OCD nature (joking), but it can be put off." Seems you know me well. :) That's my plan. I'll do little scrape and sand where it's peeling off in sheets (there's a lot of that, actually), and I'll do a quick coat of ablative to keep the barnacles off, then schedule...

Re-do needed. Best method to remove bottom paint?

I've called around, but the only place that has (had) soda blast equipment, told me that it is out of comission until further notice. If I could find a mobile service that would do it here at my place, I would handle the barrier coat and bottom paint, and also know that it was done right. Not...

Re-do needed. Best method to remove bottom paint?

well I've scoured the internet and yellow book for mobile blasting services here in Delaware, and cam up with exactly zero. The closes one I found online, was Mikes Soda Blasting in ShadySide, Md. I left him a message this AM, but given he is probably 2 1/2 hr drive from here, he may not make...
