    New Style Deck Drain Info

Hey, remember me? Same name, same boat and year, same motors. Been about 10 yrs since I communicated. I recall you helping me out with a mold issue in the cabin, nasty stuff that mold. Anyway, just a tip, google up Perko 285DP. I used these to replace the four in the deck. Just have to cut...

Deck drains / upgrade from the 2 piece white plastic

If you cut new hose to the exact length required then it shouldn’t be any issue. If you can get your hands on the hose under the deck. Double clamps.

1990 252 SAILFISH SPORT BRIDGE - WATER PUMP CHANGE OUT

Do you have twin outboards? If so, my 92 should be the same. The FW pump is behind the lower berth rear service panel, and the SW pump is behind the cockpit rear service panel on the port side. The FW pump feeds both sinks from the FW tank, and perhaps a gunnel port on the port side, and HW...

    Outboard bracket flange

It’s called a splash plate and is screwed into the bottom rear of the drive, the bottom of the drive rear edge has a recess so it’s flush. It was for Mercs and Yamahas only, JohnsonRudes 1989 and up have it as part of the motor. Per device bulletin 1C-86 to All dealers subject Grady Drive...

    another newbie, washdown pump question

On the 90, if you have the Grady Drive version, the two gas tanks are under the big floor cover, nothing else. Under the rear bilge area cover is the sw washdown/livewell pump, the fw pump is behind the rear partition in the lower berth. You can also access the sw pump from the rear service...

    2001 HPDI Fuel Management System

One sensor may be internally stuck from old age/ etc. Can you read each motor individually? My sensors are slow to move particularly at low speed.

    Yamaha HPDI 200 low idle

Are you saying BOTH motors idle low? And condition started at the same time? There are no common Yamaha systems shared between motors. Except fuel. Is your fuel good? Can try hooking up a portable fuel tank with fresh fuel to one of the motors. If it was one motor, there is a sequence...

The islander was offered in single and twin motor options, not the sailfish - twins only.

Late 80s early 90s sailfish vs gulfstream

I think you will find more 25s than 23s for sale, and all 25s had twins. Many 23s came as singles. If staying overnight in cabin, big difference in accommodations between the two models.

Hi RobertH, with my same boat and motors! And it’s been some time - To answer you, the boat was equipped with the oem Springfield drive, no platform. The platform was optional. Check with Brian he had a ‘93 with the same setup. The stern changed entirely in ‘94.

    New Here .... 265 questions

If the Honda 2kw 120v unit doesn't have a built in gfci, can add one. They come as in line and waterproof, for temp use. A gfci does not require a 3rd wire to function, nor a separate ground.

trouble filling main fuel tank 252G sailfish

No reason to reroute the 1.5 in. Fill lines. The deck fitting is much higher than the tank fitting, irrespective of being on the water or trailer, or hose route. You have a separate vent fitting on the side of the hull, one for each tank, with a high loop inside hull accessible via starboard...

1991 GW Sailfish Sitting heavy at stern in water

The tanks sit on a flat 1/2 in. ply floor, there is no foam under them. So does the fw and waste tanks. If you were to dump a 5 gal bucket of water in the cabin thru the floor deck plate, does it end up at the stern when getting up on plane? There is a path to get back there and pass thru...

Confusion: Fuel Tank and Fuel Pump on Adventure 208

Next time motor sounds like it's going to die, get to the squeeze bulb primer quick and see if it collapsed, if it is then there is a restriction on the boat side of the bulb. On my 204c, had the occasion to pick out a chuck of sealant from the pickup tube that limited motor rpm. And you...

2006 283 release water in fuel

On this center console model, is the console above the tanks? If so what penetrations leave the bottom of the console? How is the console fastened to the deck? The 283 has the Sailfish hull, is there one or two tanks in the 2006?

Fuel breather blockage Sailfish 272 1998 model

The fill line may be kinked choked nearly closed, more likely blocked vent fitting or hose. You have access to the vent and fill line connections at the tank, take off the vent line and blow thru it. If any resistance, no go! When fueling, I can readily hear the vents in action. Always start...
