Charging house battery from Yamaha 150 when running

Rlloyd, so you have a feed from each motor to one battery via fuse blocks? I was thinking of that but I don’t want one motor to sense power from the other motors output. Does this make sense?

Charging house battery from Yamaha 150 when running

Perfect guys. Thanks for all the info. I’ll check out the total wiring system so I can figure out the existing setup. I think it’s all factory wiring and switching back there so I have some flexibility. I’ll get the Yamaha cable to make it easy.

Charging house battery from Yamaha 150 when running

I have two starting batteries and one house battery. I have two Yamaha 150 (2019). I have a three bank AC charger when boat is on the hard on a trailer. I want to make sure my house battery is charger when underway and running. I see there is an isolator port on the engine and cable available...

    Wanted: Seafarer 228 in SoCal

When buying a boat in Florida, there really is only one way. You have to find as many listing as possible and then go there and stay until you find one. Lauderdale, Cape Coral, Orlando, the keys, everywhere. It takes time and most will be trashed and junk. Hurricane boats are everywhere. Sunk at...

HULL WEIGHT AND GAS TANK CAPACITY FOR MY OLDER GRADY WHITE SEAFARER

Manuals are a good start. Pop the deck plate and clean the tank label. Tank capacity and count was all over the place during that time. The labels hold up well and will specifically indicate volume. Also, for weight, there is no way to really get it right except for a truck scale. My islander...

    Shower sump

I’m not familiar with your exact boat, but typically that is what a shower sump looks like. They are a pain and need constant upkeep. The plastic cracks, they get clogged and pumps burn out and they really never drain 100%

5” deep, 3” diameter hole saw for maxwell windlass install

I just drilled out the 3/8” mounting holes and the pulpit was a foam cored so the 3” core should be no problem. I was thinking it was solid glass/ wood. The best part about switching from a Lewmar to a maxwell is that I cannot reuse any holes except one. Great. Out comes the epoxy and glass.

5” deep, 3” diameter hole saw for maxwell windlass install

Ok. I was hoping there was a better way. I’ve done this before and it’s a slow and go process. Thanks.

5” deep, 3” diameter hole saw for maxwell windlass install

Does anyone know the best way to drill a 3” od hole that will be 5” deep into the pulpit? I’m trying to get ready for a maxwell windlass install on my islander and that’s what it requires.

    I Need Help...

Better writing will get better results. One word of advice, convert it to an outboard or sell it for 1500 and walk away. My 2 cents.

    First Grady White

The first thing I would do with a boat of that year and with heavier motors, is to check the scupper hoses, clamps, drains and scuppers. They must be 100% solid and leak free. I’ve had a 92,93 and own a 99. Different models but very similar to yours. Enjoy the boat.

    Water in Fuel

do you wash the boat with a hose? Inside deck area and around the hull? I’ve seen water go from the deck and puddle on the tank. Also the deck plates can drip onto the tank. I suggest running it on a 6 gallon tank and brand new fuel with a brand new hose and fuel bulb. Eliminate the engine...

Break in twin F150 on 1999 268 islander

I had twin 250 ox66 on a Marlin. Great engines. The biggest difference I have found is overall noise and smoke between the ox and four stroke. It just makes the day more enjoyable and the best part is that I don’t have an oil tank mess in the boat. If you can find some left over 150’s, that’s...

Break in twin F150 on 1999 268 islander

Just did 35 miles last weekend. Rougher and was cruising at 3300 rpm, 24-25 mph. I’m at 10 hours now. Everything is running very well. These engines are quiet and just run. They are fine machines. Very happy.

    '95 268 Islander

Looks good. She’s gonna move with twin 200’s. I like that there is one scupper versus two on each side.

Replacing the fuel tank in 1989 Gulf Stream

In concept, it’s exactly the same. Hopefully you don’t have any obstructions that need to be removed and replaced if it was structural. Bottom line is, lift the deck plate, free the tank from any restraints, unhook hoses, empty it, then pull it. Replace with same geometry new tank. Don’t foam it...
