Love my Marlin, so 'Sell' me on getting a 330!

We jumped from a 20 Grady to a 27 Sailfish and that went well. We drove it home to Ft Lauderdale from Vero Beach in the winter and blowing 20 knots off shore. It took us 9+45 in time and we passed under 27 bridges coming all the way in the ICW! Jumping to the 30 Marlin was easy until the first...

Love my Marlin, so 'Sell' me on getting a 330!

I'm afraid that boat builders are fully on board with bigger cabins and that means 'goodbye' to the restrictions in the cabin that the walkaround 'troughs' take away........ On the HEY MON! the bow seating and the factory cushions are VERY popular on boat rides...... can't do that on the...

Thanks, that was my own little idea! I made sure to NOT make me look like a blow-boater!

Love my Marlin, so 'Sell' me on getting a 330!

Thanks CN! That's some VERY valuable info there that I will share with Jenn! She needs a bit more of a nudge to move up to a 330 than I do so this will help. Hopefully, my custom made Bow Bimini will fit on a 330. I had it made with extra long straps, just in case we moved up to a bigger, wider...

Love my Marlin, so 'Sell' me on getting a 330!

Good point...... The engine 'options' are many........ The Marlin is based in the Keys, but we may be moving up to Stuart, Fla and that puts the northern Bahamas, Abacos back in play. We've done about 16 Bahamas trips with many stay-aboards and we'd like to get back to that again so the bigger...

Love my Marlin, so 'Sell' me on getting a 330!

We'd probably be looking in the $125-$150k zone. I'd lean toward a 330 because: 1) It would be my 4th Grady so it's familiar 2) Not a Merc fan so Whalers are out 3) The Pursuit 325 cabin is basically what we have now, with less access to the mid berth. I prefer a side helm as I still like to...

    MARLIN AIR CONDITION ?

I needed the AC fan motor re-built and when we popped the fridge out: 1) It was light 2) They wisely left a long power cord so that we could set the fridge forward and then just pop it back in!

Love my Marlin, so 'Sell' me on getting a 330!

Great photo and you have made myself and the Admiralette smile at the great idea about the helm seat! On our long Bahamas trips there are many days where we don't take the boat out so in and out of the cabin a dozen times a day would be hassle with the seat in the way! Thanks!

Love my Marlin, so 'Sell' me on getting a 330!

Getting to the age where I may want to make that last move up in size while I can and want to enjoy it. We've enjoyed our 2001 Marlin for 11 summers now. Made about 16 trips to the northern Bahamas including two, 18 day sleep-aboard trips! We'd like a bigger cabin and being about the last guy...

    Tackle door latch is stuck!

Great ideas guys, thanks! I saw that four screws hold the entire cabinet in place so I should be able to slide the whole thing out and go from there. Drilling a big access hole right above the latch should give me the access I need to un-block it.

    Tackle door latch is stuck!

On my 2001 Marlin, I have three pull-out tackle doors under my seat. 'Something' inside is blocking the latch and the door is stuck shut. Before I get out the power tools, is there a way to fix this? I'm thinking about drilling a hole through the latch to try and push something inside to get...

    Grady White Marlin 300 Modifications

Wow! Lots of stuff! We too have decided to keep our 2001 Marlin after 10 summer and over 800 hours. I have the electronics that I want (Furuno NavNet, 64 nm radar, Simrad A/P) aft Bimini and on and on. Older OX-66 engines and when one finally dies, we'll probably just pop in a Fact Re-man...

    Rub rail end caps?

Had the 2001 Marlin pulled out for service, bottom paint and hull wax and noticed the rub rail and caps next to the engines were just about gone. Three Grady dealers all said the same thing, "Can't get any". TACO Marine sells some generic ones and as long as it fits, I don't care. Just...

    Can't stop my wiper motor!

With the Main Switch Panel 'on', the passenger wiper runs...... even with the Wiper switch off. That's bad. I tried to pop the covered breaker above the switch but all I did was to tear the rubber cover off! How do I cut the power to this one wiper? Thanks in advance.......

    Surface Mounting Electronics?

My Master Marine Electrician and I flush mounted my Furuno NavNet onto a custom cut piece of hard black plastic. He does not like to use Starboard because he's seen it not do well when it gets lots of sun. We also did not caulk around the new panel as we did not want moisture being trapped...

    250 OX-66 Thermostats?

Was running very shallow last week looking for lobsters so I 'may' have ingested some sand/muck/debris. Powered up to move and a minute later got a hot horn. Shut it down, let it cool off. Got ready to run home and it fired right up and ran great for two miles then the horn came back on. Water...

    2000 Marlin 300 re-power

If your OX-66s are in good shape why not save the $50k? I have them on my 2001 and yes I'd love to have new 250s but I'd also enjoy having that $$$ in the bank! I'd rather sell my 2001 then take that $50k extra and go shopping for a newer Marlin that has original F250s....... 1) Don't think...

    Marlin Fish Box

Sounds like yours is like my 2001 Marlins' fish box. It's 'big' for sure but long and narrow but the worst thing about it is the small door/lid. Trying to lower a flipping/flopping dolphin in there is tough! For bottom fish, I put a 72 or 94 QT Igloo on top as I'm afraid that a fish or two will...
