I second the WEM senders. I replaced my original senders with WEMA senders over 15 years ago and they are still fine.

    Fuel Before Winter Layup

In the spring As a safeguard, I dis-connect my fuel line at the engine and use my primer pump to pump out about 2qts of fuel into a clear container. Usually use an old windshield washer container. Let the fuel settle for a short time, about 15 minutes and if there is any water at the bottom...

New owner Gulfstream 232 in CT.

Almost any good upholstery shop should be able to make the cushions. If not contact A & J Canvas, (252) 244-1509.. They do almost all the cushions/ canvas work for Grady-White. They are located in Vanceboro, NC. They should have the patterns for your boat. Washdown hoses can be purchased at...

    GW 232 trailer info needed.

Bought my trailer from NEXTRAIL in Florida. Gave me a great deal. Trailer is still in great shape and was purchased in 2001. I bought a 7k unit , but should probably gotten a 8-10k. electric over Hydraulic is ideal. Some states no longer allow surge brakes so be sure and check. Biggest problem...

Fuel Gauges Not Working Properly--Manual Calculation Method?

replace your old senders with the ones from WEMA. great price and VERY GOOD units Be sure to specify SAE screws or both. DO NOT use and electric drill to do this job as the open fuel tank represents an explosion hazard. WEMA.COM. Be sure to clean all wiring contacts. The original senders are crap.

    Yamaha150 VS Suzuki 150 -- Both 4-stroke

One problem with Yamaha is the EXPENSIVE and REQUIRED 100Hr maintenance, about $150 per motor. Not to mention the added expense of about $9000+ more for the Yamahas

    Towing a 282 Sailfish

Just a guide, but most trailer folks will tell you not to exceed 80% of your tow vehicles capacity and the same with the trailer. I used to tow my '97 Gulfstream with twin 150s using my 2003 1/2 ton Chevy Suburban. It had 3.73 gears and a 285HP small block. It did fine on level roads, but long...

I never lock mine since a thief will do FAR MORE damage getting in there then its worth. If they want it, they will get it anyway.

    Yamaha150 VS Suzuki 150 -- Both 4-stroke

Thanks for the postings so far. I was quoted a pair price for CR DF150s with controls, props gauges and on-the-water testing at $23K. Dealer is about 1.5 hrs away. Keep the posts coming -- The more info the Better. One of the down sides to the Yamaha F150 is the required 100 hr maintenance that...

    MY 23 GULFSTREAM

A small trick when backing your Gulfstream if it has a bracket mounted engine. Tilt your motor(s) about 10-15 Degrees so the propwash is pushed under the boat instead of smack uo against the hull.

    Yamaha150 VS Suzuki 150 -- Both 4-stroke

Looking at a repower for a 1997 Gulfstream. Boat is in great shape and I cant see 120K for a new one. What are the thoughts on both of these engines or even E-Tec 150s. Thanks in advance for the input.

Welding or heating the skeg most likely will require removing the gear set and seals to avoid further damage from the heat transfer.

    4 blade prop's HPDI 200's Grady 265

Going to a four-blade will help hole-shot and top end fuel economy. HOWEVER, it will cause issues if you slow troll live bait as in King Mac fishing. If you make the upgrade, you may need to drop a 5gal bucket over the side and tie it off to slow your boat to the proper bait speed. Live baits...

    Recommendations for a VHF radio

"I can't imagine having to do that in a panic while trying to call out on 16. You've probably already come to this conclusion but a new radio with DSC and AIS would be a good investment since you plan on doing a lot of off shore fishing this year. I had one of the Standard Horizon Matrix series...
