Looking at Grady 208 or 226

I boat on the Great South Bay and fish out of Fire Island Inlet with my 228 (bracketed version of the 226). Perfect boat for that ..I am out by myself 50% of the time.

Trying to decide what path to take. Older Grady or New CC

Re: Trying to decide what path to take. Older Grady or New C Have you checked prices? I'm not sure what kind of new 23 foot cc you can buy for 50k. If you're buying new I would think that you would want good electronics, a big enough engine and all the other options that make you excited about...

    Dome Light -272 Sailfish

The spreader lights don't work either? If so, there are 2 separate switches if I remember correctly, so doubtful that both went bad at the same time, (same with the bulbs)but anything is possible. I would do what Roberth suggests in that order. I had to replace the dome switch at one point and...

    Yamaha F250

My 2010 F-250,330 hours and has been flawless. With regard to the squealing problem..I understand that was a bushing issue around 2005/2006 iirc, which was corrected with new style bushing. As you mentioned , there was a squealing issue after that which is pretty much harmless. I had it myself...

    Cockpit Seating

The bean bags come in small, medium, large, teardrop, with arms , without etc. I have 2 small ones that my grandchildren use but they work for small adults as well. VERY comfortable and no worries about tipping while underway. The 2 main manufacturers are E Sea Rider and Ocean Tamer. You can...

    Help! New Grady problems

Could one one of your trim tabs be stuck in the down or partially down position? Run each tab up and down separately and check..if you cant see the tab, use a broomstick or similar to feel if the tabs are actually moving.

do i need an anti-syphon valve

It cost about $10 and is simple to replace. Irregardless of explosive possibility , Dennis makes an excellent point of EPA liability if your bilge pump starts throwing raw gas into the water…think its $15k minimum fine. Lets see, $10 or $15k…hmm. If the lawsuits start to fly, wouldn't you want...

how far off are these motor results

This ^^^^^^^^^ My Grady came from the factory with the plate buried.I guess they would rather have it that way then to get sued if a novice boater went hard into a turn and it broke loose and people were injured. I raised mine 2 holes and it's fine.

Replacing PVC Rodholders on Livewell ?

Couple of questions for anyone who has done it. Seems that you can pull each one out independently; if so, what type of tool did you use on the bottom screw. If not, I imagine you would have to pull the whole unit off which looks like you would have to remove the live well to access it. Can you...

First year for F250 on 228??

Be careful with those 225's in the years you mentioned. It's imperative that you have the exhaust scoped for the dreaded corrosion. Thinking you might be better off with an F 250 for a few reasons if your can swing it...better power, no stigma of corrosion problem that can affect resale and...

    225 overheating

Most likely the water pump, especially if its never been changed. If thats the case I would not attempt it myself because if those LU bolts haven't been opened in 7 years in salt water, I can guarantee they aren't coming off without a serious fight. You mentioned that it overheated while...
