What do you like and dislike about your Grady?

Thanks ! You saved me time writing because you said everything that I would have said..exactly ! My only comment to you is that when the wind is blowing hard off the quarter in choppy seas, there are not a lot of boats that stay completely dry...no less a 22 footer.

    Anchor Swivel issues

As I said, I tried the longer, narrow shackle with flush outside…didn't help as the anchor still pivoted to the wrong side ; I hope you have better luck. I might just have to sell my boat to end the frustration ! Actually, its getting kind of tight now that I've got 5 grandkids swarming all over...

    Anchor Swivel issues

In my case I do have the proper roller now but still have issues. I believe it it because the standard roller is too narrow and a larger one would solve the problem. I would have gotten a bigger roller when I bought the BRM 2 but I figured it would look weird overlapping that channel. Besides...

    Anchor Swivel issues

I had my swivel attached to a shackle and had the same problem….seemed the roller was too narrow. It is now attached to the anchor directly as is yours.I had gone to WM and bought long, narrow shackles with the ends flush but still no joy. Below is the roller I replaced it with. You can see...

    Anchor Swivel issues

I feel your pain. Have a Delta anchor that didn't launch most of the time. Figured it was because the anchor roller was like yours and designed for a Danforth. Bought one designed for a Delta and it didn't work any better and had NO bail. Same problems retrieving so I added the swivel. Had the...

    Seafarer v. Overnighter

Actually the Seafarer only has an 8' beam whereas the 204c has 8'1''... Another consideration for bracketed boats is your docking arrangements (if any). Floating dock..no problem…having to get off of the stern (bracket and engines)or off of the bow (climbing over a pulpit and anchor) can require...

    Tilt Steering Problem

Did your service guy actually look at it and determine that their were no leaks and no air in the system ( which can cause the play) or did you just speak via phone? Hopefully he actually did see it..otherwise I would contact seastar asap and let them tell you how to diagnose your problem so...

    Yamaha F350 Issue

Good advice. I just saw a similar thread on another forum. A Yamaha dealer on there said to replace the flywheel at 300 hours..even on newer engines.. and I believe he said Yamaha will reimburse if still under warranty. You may want to call Yamaha for further info or speak to a certified dealer...

help deciding on which grady! (seafarer/overnighter)

As mentioned , your requirements for style of fishing arent extreme so the Overniter would most likely fit the bill. The Seafarer and Gulfstream are nice boats but the engines are 12-13 years old. I wouldnt let the lack of warranty on the Overniter stop me...the other 2 boats have no engine...

    Marina Mischief

Yep..I would pressure your marina in a big way and don't be too nice. You are paying for security and you're not getting it. If they cant keep your boat secure (3 times, really?) you and others should have a sit down with them and turn up the heat. Maybe start by having them clean up the mess...

    Grady Web site virus

Ive had it happen several times last week on a different boating forum . I've never seen it before on any other site. Wonder if there is a common denominator..i.e. boating sites; new detection software.

Question for Seafarer owners with windlass

I bought my 2010 slightly used. It came mounted with a Windline URM-2 bow roller and a Delta type anchor. The URM -2 is for Danforth type anchors but apparently had been modified to fit the delta by cutting a 11/8 inch opening in the bail to allow the delta to pass thru it. It worked "ok" but I...

    Power for a 22' Seafarer

Questions for you: Considering the type of boating that you do, are you going to be happy/ comfortable with the "minimum recommended power"? What about if and when you try to sell it; how many potential buyers will be happy with the "minimum recommended power"?

    Anchor problem

I had a similar problem and it turned out the shackle was too big and caused a jam on the anchor roller....not sure if that could be your problem. Just a thought.

    Seafarer cabin headliner

I believe that its probably glued onto the ceiling. I have a 2010 and had to fix some material that was dropping down. After removing the light I had to pry the whole backing panel off. Just to be sure, give Grady customer service a call and they will let you know before you get too far into it...

    ICOM 504 reception issues

ICOM had a problem with bad batch of filters in some of their radios. I have a 2010 and , like you, couldnt hear transmissions that were nearby. I called ICOM and they told me to send it in and they would check it out. They said if it turned out to be the filter, they would replace it for free...

    Classic Grady

Looking at those helm chairs in the brochure picture, Im thinking that they should have offered seat belts as an option !
