    Considering Tournament 225

We are in our third year with our Tournament 225 with the 250 motor. Love it. We fish, we tube, we beach, we hate when winter comes... The boat can handle way more rough water than I can, and the layout is incredibly flexible. Its hard to imagine a more useful design given the length of the...

    Busted Lower Unit F250

Ok - just a status report... Insurance DID cover the lower unit. The insurance company had to send a marine surveyor to the dealer's yard to see the damage, but the cut a check for $4,300. I picked the boat up this afternoon and drove her back to Norwalk harbor - good as new - I am so pleased...

    Sunglasses for Fishing

OK - I will admit it... I am at THAT AGE now... So are the bifocal design a standard available item from CDM, or do you have to order a prescriotion? My Maui's are prescription now, but only for distance. Therefore I have to look under them or take them off to read the chartplotter, tie a...

    Sunglasses for Fishing

My shades are falling apart - can anyone recommend good sunglasses for fishing. I have polarized Maui Jims now - is Costa Del Mar any better? What about color? gray vs. amber etc... I would appreciate any thoughts... Thanks!

    Lobstering

I have tried to keep the trap on the swim platform of our 225, and still everything in the boat seems to get covered with mud and gunk. I now keep the traps behind the garage - lucky for me my next-door neighbor has a lobster boat and I can buy a few really fresh ones from him now and again...

    Tournament 225

I hope you love it as much as we love ours! Sorry - I can't help you with the head - ours is just a porta-potti but works fine for us. Let us know if we can help otherwise....!

    Busted Lower Unit F250

Hey - thanks alot guys - I think at the end of the day its a bummer, but as you correctly point out - nobody got hurt. I understand from the insurance folks that it is covered, although there will be a deductable which I haven't figured out yet. I called the very professional and responsive...

    Busted Lower Unit F250

Our boat has been in the water for 3 weeks and like an idiot I bounced the lower unit off a rock this afternoon. What an awful feeling... It continued to run and sounded ok, so I limped home at a moderate speed. Seemed to run fine actually, but when I got to the dock, I found no reverse and...

    Flushing Engine w/ Fresh Water

    N.E.M. - glad I asked...that sounds perfect - thank you. :)

    Flushing Engine w/ Fresh Water

I keep the boat on a mooring in salt water, and it is difficult to get to a dock with a hose where I can flush the engine with fresh water. The boat carries 11 gal of fresh water. It would be great if I could flush some of that through the Yammi, but the only outlet of the freshwater system is...

    Tournament 192 vs 205

We love our 225, but i will say we almost bought the 205 - It is a great boat. If you can pull it off, I think you will be happy with it. I don't know much about the 19' version though...

    Q for Tournament 225 owners

You know, I have never checked for water in the bracket (embarassing) but i will this year. We are about to start our third season in the water and it has never behaved as if there was any extra weight back there... More embarassment - I do not know the process for painting the...

    360-330 Owners - non-skid waxes?

I think it is going to be pretty slick for a walking surface if you use a regular wax. Nice thing about Woody Wax is that you can still walk there without falling on your *&%... The Woody Wax directions are to clean the surfaces thoroughly, then leave damp, apply a few squirts of Woody Wax...

    Q for Tournament 225 owners

Thanks Petefish - about the motor in the water, even when it is trimmed up, yes - -we are stuck with that, and you definitely want to paint the lower unit with a bottom paint for Aluminum. (same with the bracket which is aluminum...) If you search for it, you will find a number of other...
