To fog or not to fog OX66 250hp

Do you replace the plugs after you burn the fogging oil off in the spring? Is it a good idea to spray fogging oil in the intake as well as the cylinders through the plug holes?

To fog or not to fog OX66 250hp

When you say really hit it until it quits do you spray for 5 seconds in each port and then choose one of the ports to spray longer until it stalls or do you evenly spray in each port until you see it stall. And I remember to years ago my boat mechanic definitely fogged my engine but on T HT...

To fog or not to fog OX66 250hp

So I am new to winterizing my Yamaha OX66 to 250 hp and I have been getting conflicting information on the web. specifically some guys say it is a good idea to fog the engine while others are strictly opposed to it. So I am wondering what do you folks recommend first on that engine I do not see...

    Grady head sea ride

First a jump from a 232 to a 336 is big. Surely you know that the the hull displacement of any sport fishing boats can only be modified from mfr to mfr slightly. This said, I am sure either 1 your boat is underpowered, or powered with the wrong motor, or 2 you are not trimming and tilting your...

So it seems like the census is braided with mono top shot. I will give it a try... Also I know what a nail knot is, but I never heard the term "nubbed".

    Kill Switch alarm malfunction

Don't mistake the alarm you're hearing as a malfunction by all means it is an indication that something is wrong. As far as I know it is not an indication of low oil but an indication of overheat or high engine temp. Pull your thermostats and check for debris and replace both thermostats and...

islander 268 - type of thruhull transducer

Don't try to install the transducer without a fairing block. I have the exact same boat as. You and I was pissed because the high speed fairing will not fit in that little cut out. So I wound up using the original fairing. I installed the 704 ducer with speed. Last year and it works great...

Clean fuse block or replace? Opinions needed!!!!

High side for a 228 is $500 in material, and $500 in labor if you shop around. More realistic is $350 material, $500 labor. If it is more I would look into another marine electrician. I am an electrician, and is the only reason why I will be doing my boat myself.

    Outriggers...Which ones to buy?

I have a 1995 268 Islander. She is 2 years old (to me)... The boat came with very nice top guns already installed. I was wondering what outrigger poles to buy. They sell 15' and 18' pretty common. Also I dont really want to go through the hasstle of removing the rigging every time we go out...

Clean fuse block or replace? Opinions needed!!!!

Thank you for sharing that info. while this may not be the response I wanted to hear it may have been the response I was expecting. I am not sure about the wiring to my fuse block I will check. however I am fairly confident that by changing the fuse block with a larger fuse block this will solve...

Clean fuse block or replace? Opinions needed!!!!

I have a 1995 268 Islander. The fuse contacts and fuse teeth are sporatically kicking in and out. I am on the fence about changing the contact block, or cleaning it, and replacing the fuses. Does anyone have any ideas. If for cleaning, specifically how, and what products to use. My gut...

    Restoring the fish box lids

I spoke to Grady White and west marine yesterday as I have the same boat with the same problem. It seems as though the paint chipping is not at all a result of flex of the lids but a result of two very different things per Grady White. first the bottom edge of the Fish box lid is a very light...
