    Islander 270 V-berth filler cushion

It's the same shape as the table and the same thickness of the adjacent cushions. With that information, a local upholstery shop should be able to make one for you.

I love my Islander. I believe that the Sailfish is about one foot wider and one foot longer.

    268 Islander performance questions.

I bought a 2002, 270 Islander with a single 250 hp OX66 this past June. I really like the layout of the boat and the ride of the hull. I have researched the same question that you asked. Most folks will report a WOT speed of about 33 to 34 mph. My WOT rpm of 5,500 rpm produces a speed of 32...

Forward Bilge Question- Related to Lake Erie Run

Have you been using your anchor? Keep in mind that the anchor locker drains into the bilge. Therefore, a wet rode will put some water into that front bilge area. I always seem to have about an inch of water in mine.

Ox66 stalls under load at idle

Isn't it time just to pull the boat and bring it to a Yamaha mechanic? I think that you've been trying to solve this issue for about 3 weeks. I seem to read so many of these posts online with OX66s with folks spending all kinds of time and changing so many components and never finding the...

Issue with boat listings to the port

I agree. My boat is very new to me so I need to do more experimenting. However, one of the former boat owners told me that after he figured out the correct trim combination from the tabs and motor, he got caught out in some really nasty conditions and the boat handled exceptionally well.

Issue with boat listings to the port

I took my new-to-me 2002 Islander out this past weekend and noticed the same thing. Listing to the port side and it really rolled to the port side the first time we tried to accelerate. I then remembered what a former owner of the boat told me which was this: "keep trim tabs all the way up and...

Survey Shows Elevated Moisture in 2002 Islander Transom

I was thinking the same thing. I'd love to see readings for several manufacturers for boats over a wide age range. That data would be very helpful in decision making.

Survey Shows Elevated Moisture in 2002 Islander Transom

I received a pre-purchase survey report that included the following information on the transom: "Transom moisture readings were relatively high (25% - 30%) across the entire encased transom. Some moisture is not unusual for vessels of the age. Normal wood moisture is approximately 10 - 15%...
