    dreaded headliner crack

Thanks guys. I have been talking with Dan Davis from Grady. He tells me the repair has to be done in stages over at least a week. Has anyone who has their repaired could tell me how much work is involved and what it took to get repaired. I am hoping he can get someone from Long Island to...

    dreaded headliner crack

I have read about this here before and it has now happened to me. Just checked on the boat to get it ready to launch and found a rather large split in the plastic. It was fine when the boat was hauled and covered for the winter and it has been a very mild winter this year too. I called Grady...

    Engine Paint

That Pettit spray on paint for outdrives does not work. Put on 3 coats in the spring. Painted the section of the lower unit noses and brackets. Then after 2 months I start getting growth on the noses that you have to scrub off each week. Pulled the boat for the hurricane. The brackets are...

    Irene Reports

OK, in central New Jersey I guess. I have seen more damage done during a winter Nor'easter. These pictures were taken as the eye wall start to pass over and still had another 30 minutes of incoming tide. Note the B placard. Docks came close to floating away.

    Bow thruster question

I have been losing a thruster blade each season for the 2 years I have owned the boat. Last week the thruster made some very unusual noises with no thrust each way and then the problem cleared itself but the thruster did not sound right. I knew a blade was lost just like last year. I was pulled...

Seat Covers for 2006 30 Marlin

You can probably find a generic helm seat cover but everything else is custom made. I have a helm and side bench cover along with a dash cover that was custom made with Stamoid material. It cost 900 dollars. Jeans Canvas made it http://www.jeanscanvas.com These people do not answer E-mail or...

    Water in Marlin bilge

Thanks Megabytes. The entire aft section under the lip pulled away from the sealant. They did no put enough on the vertical surfaces to keep it to grip good. Plus the livewell probably settled into place. Two tubes of life chalk and the entire underneath is sealed nice now.

    steering?

When you get a quart of the Seastar fluid, skip getting the 19 dollar fill tube. Get on of those epoxy syringes. This will allow you to slowly top off the fluid without making a mess. Bring the level up high enough so you can see just below the threads.

    Water in Marlin bilge

I know this has been discussed a lot here. I went over what I did on mine to keep the water out when the last person asked about this. This past weekend I found a few more sources. Before leaving on a fishing trip I check the forward bilge and it was dry. I had the livewell running most of the...

    Show Us Your Grady

New addition for my Marlin for 2011. Got my Fischer Panda gen-set installed. Then I installed a aft sun cover to get some relief from the scorching sun. Not to sure if my new gen-set will power this new communication mast.

I want to install a Carbon Monoxide detector in the cabin of my 2007 Marlin. Does anybody know what brand Grady uses and were do they mount it? I know it is hardwired into the y system.

Water in front bilge 06 marlin

This is a common problem. Boat sits nose heavy in the water and all the water will collect in the front bilge. Given you don't have anything in the water system leaking, this is what I found in mine. Had my boat for a year now (2007 marlin) and it was bad at first. Here is what if found. Cup...

    SeaStar problem

I would figure if you don't see a leak that it could be air. Don't know if you have power assist. I discovered that Grady did not install the clear lower pressure tube between my helm unit and the P/A pump. The fitting had a rubber cap under the nut. When I loosened the nut the plug shoot out...

    Generator project

Thanks Golfcart, This really does help me. I see how the muffler is mounted. I was looking at mine today. I my have to move my A/C pump if I can get enough slack in the line. Or get the the left inlet style and loop the hose to the rear. Some of my stuff came in today from Grady. I have to...

    Generator project

Thanks I do appreciate it. My F/P generator just arrived today. Looks nice. Just hope I never have to change the impeller. Ordered some parts from the Grady dealer. I think the tank gauge goes in the head next to the water tank gauge. I wanted to do the installation as if it was factory...

    Generator project

Getting ready to install a F/P gen set this spring in my 2007 Marlin 300. I just have few questions. Does anybody know who makes the diesel tank? Is there a fuel gauge mount on the breaker panel in the cabin like the manual states? I guess the ship or shore switch is a set of breakers with a...

    Yammaha Engine Fuel filter housing

Thanks Smoky, I thought that is how they are. Fist time I change mine I had a hard time unscrewing it and it was impossible to get the threads started. I went and bought the special wrench to grip the lugs on the housing. Now I want to know if this is covered by warranty or a service bulletin...

    4 killed in boating accident

Looking at my Marlin owners manual, it says right in there that my boat has a high water alarm. I know it does not. I will be installing a alarm, that is for sure.

    Questions About Marine Insurance

Don't know why Boatus advertises they have the lowest rates. When I got my G/W they were the most expensive. I now have Travelers for $850 with a lay up time from Dec. 15 to March 1 With my last boat (26 Seamaster) I had State Farm for $360. I had BoatUS go over my current policy then around...
