    **Removing sealer like Poli Glow

I need y’all’s help! I’m working on removing what I believe is some type of sealant/sealer that a previous owner applied. I’ve come to understand that it may be Poli Glow. I honestly don’t know and don’t have a way to find out. I was going to buy a bottle of their brand remover and see if...

Trim tabs - gauge is broken

Make sure that the gauge is wired correctly. I’d pull the switch and take a look at it. I’ve got Bennett trim tabs and they have a great site to troubleshoot and are also responsive if you contact them. If they’re Lenco, I don’t have any experience but I’d suspect a similar experience.

97 Yamaha SWII 150 low compression one cylinder

Yesterday, I was tuning up my motor to get it ready for new season. Before we started, we ran a quick compression test. All cylinders were 120 PSI except bottom port side read 110 PSI. I know that if it’s within 10%, it should ok. I’m looking for some wisdom from the thread on what you would...

98 Adventure needs dash update! Need help

I’m going to be taking off this ugly dash cover and constructing a new dash. I’m wanting to upgrade my Lowrance 7 inch unit to at least 9 inches. I’d love to hear everyone’s opinion here. Not to start a war, but just anyone’s advice on size and personal experience. I mainly fish Chesapeake...

Yamaha 150 Saltwater Series II Idle

I've noticed a higher idle when I flush the motor with muffs on, yalls around 800-1000 RPMs. It flucates between those and almost sounds like it's missing a little. In the water, dosnt do it as much. A slow troll is a struggle, usually can't get it slower than 2mph. Boat is a 98 Adventure...

    Pulled trigger~ 98 GW Adventure

Mine was without trailer also...I had my trailer from my old Seafarer 226 that i got rid of. It's hard to put a price on that hardtop. I'm glad I jumped on the one that I got.

    Pulled trigger~ 98 GW Adventure

I paid $13800. I was pretty happy with that price. Some small things that I need to fix but hey, that's a boat. Survey on hull and motor was good and it has a hardtop...crazy thing is, feels just as heavy as my 226 felt behind my tow vehicle. Couple things I need to replace: - cushions in...

    Pulled trigger~ 98 GW Adventure

Finally pulled trigger after a long process and almost buying a couple different boats. It's been a long road to find one in good shape but well worth the money spent. It's 1998 GW Adventure with Hardtop. 1997 Yamaha Saltwater Series II. One owner boat with all service records.

    93 Adventure 208

I'm still in the market. I'm hesitant to pull the trigger since the motor is a little older than I'd like. Another 208 has popped up in my area. It's a 98 with a hardtop and a 150 Yamaha Saltwater Series. It has bottom paint though and I hear bad things about a 150 with a hardtop. I'd love...

    Replacing 1983 Seafarer floor/gas tank

So the boat has been on a stand still for a while now. We've actually had a our second daughter and she is 4 month old now. I needed to make a decision on whether to finish this boat or get rid of it and get something ready to use. After must going back and forth, I've decided to get back on...

    Replacing 1983 Seafarer floor/gas tank

I still can't make up my mind if I want to pull the cap or not... that last post has got me thinking. If I pull the cap then ill be able to easily put all new stringers bulkheads in. I'll also be able to put the whole new transom in at one time ( I won't have to cut each layer in...

    Replacing 1983 Seafarer floor/gas tank

Yes, that is correct. The floor is cored just like the rear deck. The floor is actually solid though. Yes, if I can get the cabin cut out in one piece, it will clear the helm...i'll have to remove the wood walls, they need to be taken out anyway and traced for templates for the new wood to go...

    Replacing 1983 Seafarer floor/gas tank

I know the boat a couple broken thru-hulls which led to water soaking in the foam and against the stringers for a very long time...I don't believe that the boat was stored properly either...I know the boat sat for at least 10 years....I just looked through all of my pictures again because I...

    Replacing 1983 Seafarer floor/gas tank

I'm waiting on my reply from GW...if I could get to everything without cutting the tub? I'm still confused on how I'm going to get any pressure against the backside of the main stringers ( side that is against the tub)... This is if I don't cut the tub.
