    208 re-power with 200 hp E-tec G2 - which prop?

It’s called the Perfect 10. Here’s the fine print from the Evinrude website. You may need to look up their B.E.S.T. contract literature for an answer to that... "©2017 BRP US Inc. (BRP). All rights reserved. ®,™ and the BRP logo are trademarks of Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. or its...

    208 re-power with 200 hp E-tec G2 - which prop?

Thanks again. Will let you know what the dealer comes back with and how things go. It’ll be a month or so. The 10-year warrantee promotion expires April 30 so by then for sure.

    208 re-power with 200 hp E-tec G2 - which prop?

We’re planning on re-powering our 208 with a 200 HP Evinrude G2 next month and I’m curious to hear if anyone has done the same, and what prop they went with. The 4-bladed option is intriguing with the purported mid-range efficiency and sure bite. I’m waiting to hear what the dealer recommends...

    208 Adventure Fresh Water Tank

Yes for sure! Being able to go below and take a nap or cuddle is a major bonus. I forgot how spacious and comfortable the cabins are on the 208. The cushions and interior etc are basically unused on our newbie. Everything works. Thanks again, John and A.M. Thanks for all of this information...

    208 Adventure Fresh Water Tank

Hey thanks OnoEric! That is very helpful. My wife was lobbying for the 208 over the 209 & 180 and I’m glad to have listen to her. She is over the moon with the boat and me too. It's nice having owned one before since I already know the boat so well and what I want to do to customize things...

    208 Adventure Fresh Water Tank

Re: 208 Adventure Fresh Water Tank - Access Panel question Our previous 208 had the fresh water tank, but our new to us 2003 does not. I don't miss the option and prefer a simpler boat, but I really liked the 80+ lbs of weight it added there and I'm wondering how easy it is to pop that access...

    209 Escape or Fisherman 222

We've been looking at pre-owned 209 Escapes (2001+) and have been focused on this model when an older 1999 Fisherman 222 comes on the scene. I know both boats have the SV2 hull, but, if given the opportunity, would you opt for the larger boat? (Both will fit in our slip and assuming both are...

282 Sailfish vs. Eastern Boats 27 Islander

Capeguy, Thanks - roger that. I just needed the confirmation to what I had already thought about the comparison between the two hulls. You pretty much provided that confirmation.

282 Sailfish vs. Eastern Boats 27 Islander

It's been awhile since I've taken a peak at the Hinckley boats, and wow are they nice. All jet powered now it seems. Sea Ray has always seemed to have great layouts and use of space. They look nice too, but just not what we're after for ourselves - especially being I/Os. I'll need to sea trial...

282 Sailfish vs. Eastern Boats 27 Islander

Thanks again all. Here's the Eastern 27 Islander. http://easternboats.com/270-islander/ The 248 is what caught out attention, then the 27 as it happens. They offer a Tournament version that is more fishy and claim to make them to your specs/ needs. However there doesn't seem to be may used...

282 Sailfish vs. Eastern Boats 27 Islander

Thank you again for the feedback - and that all does help very much. And feeds the dream as well! It's always about trade-off with boats...

282 Sailfish vs. Eastern Boats 27 Islander

Thanks very much Steve, Brian. That's what I'd expect and wanted to hear I guess - regarding the ride - especially in not-so-nice conditions. That's important here! There were a few finish and component issues I noticed on the Eastern- no biggie. But this is another area where we've been...

282 Sailfish vs. Eastern Boats 27 Islander

Greetings, We're dreaming ahead for the move up someday, and I've always had my heart set on the 282 Sailfish which is the dream boat. There are a few Eastern 27's in our marina and I'm curious to get opinions on these. I understand that they're two different boats in many many ways for sure...

4 stroke vs HPDI on a Grady CC

I think it's safe to say that the 150, 175, and 200 HPDIs are the best motors Yamaha has ever made. And that goes across all of their product lines. Like BobP said, 11 years and still going says it all.

    208 Upgrades

Very nice! That cover will keep the seats in great shape. We had a zippered entry on the starboard side with our full cover, and it made a great mini-camper feeling at the slip. Are those zippers or seems I see on each side of the cover? If not zippers, adding them may be nice for access to...

    A milestone....

What the heck. We're still here. Another post just to say that BobP helped increase the pride factor in that awesome 150hp HPDI we ran. Three cheers for BobP! Thanks again GreatGrady!

    Wet Feet under Helm

Our 208 has a ½ inch nylon hose under the helm that comes from the drain hole inside the electronics box on the helm-(no hardtop). There may have been some rinse water in a curve in the small drain hose, and when you got up on a plane, it spilled out? All the best this season. Jim

Music choices - heading thru the pass.....

sel1005, Thanks for the great post! As per your recommendation, I made a nice sounding “greatgrady mix” I will try soon on board, starting off with Steppenwolf's "Born To Be Wild", select Queen tunes , the Stray Cats “Blast Off”, some Eagles, Paul Kelly, original Van Halen, Rolling Stones, and...

Music choices - heading thru the pass.....

We’ve been listening to a relatively new band from Sweden of all places called “Little Dragon”. The Talking Heads are another favorite…as well as many listed above. I really like Paul Kelly and was fortunate enough to see him perform in a pub in Melbourne in the mid- 90s…the place was...
