Great write up! Thank for for taking the time to walk us through the winterization procedure. It looks like it will be a piece of cake!

Winterization of my 2002 GW Marlin

I was just getting ready to ask for recommendations on winterizing my 2000 Marlin when I saw your post. I have an RV, and am well versed at winterizing it.....I'm sure the boat is very similar, with the outboards being the only real difference. Is there any easy way to introduce RV antifreeze...

    Seacock valve frozen on Marlin...

In addition to the 4 seacocks in the rear, there are 2 more under the floor in the cabin. One is the raw water intake for the head, and the other is the black water pumpout. Not sure what to tell you about the stuck valve. If you can't close it, I would definitely have a new one installed...

Burning off both tanks on Marlin

I do just that....each tank feeds one engine. In the event that I have a problem, I can always switch things around.

330 express with twin 225hp mpg

I can tell you that I get 1-1.2 MPG in my Marlin with twin 2-stroke 250's at 25mph. I think you can probably expect to see around the same with 4 stroke 225's on an express.

HELP - Water coming in thru wiper housing??

It is a simple fix. I'm assuming you are talking about the starboard side wiper. There is a nipple that is attached to plastic tubing that feeds fresh water onto the starboard side window washer. There is a knob at the helm that turns the washer on and off. If it is on and the plastic tubing...

    Marlin 300 Michigan to Florida

I also have a Marlin and an Excursion. Although I do not trailer mine, I would not hesitate to pull the weight with my truck. My hesitation would be the height of the boat.....that is a tall load when it is sitting on a trailer. For me, it would be too much of a pain to remove all the crap...

    OX66 issues stalling??

Why wouldn't you do the VST in the water? I did my low pressure fuel pumps, VST filters, and O2 sensors while my boat was in the water. The only real concern with doing the work in the water is the possibility of losing parts. I was worried about loosing the screws, so I was extra careful. I...

    OX66 issues stalling??

This is most definitely a fuel related problem. The two most likely causes are your low pressure pumps or the Vapor Separator Tank filter. Both are diy fixes. The low pressure pumps are on the port side of the motor. They are each attached to the block with two screws. If you unscrew them...

    Busted bow pulpit

Holy cow, I think I'd have to change my shorts had that happened to me! Make sure you follow up with what Grady tells you. Good luck.

    2004 F225s on Marlin?

What do you consider as having to push the RPM's? I have 2000 OX66 250's on my Marlin, and I have to run them at about 4,600-4,800 to get that kind of speed. At that RPM I am getting 1-1.2 mpg depending on the conditions.

    Search/Spotlights

Beautiful boat!!! I have mine mounted on the starboard side of the hardtop. It was originally centered at the front of the hardtop, but I had to buy a new one and I was having a 48" open array radar installed at the same time. My controller is on the starboard side overhead bin above the...

    Auto-pilot

How much should a used autopilot system cost? I've looked online, but I'm not sure I am seeing the whole package. What is involved with the install of an autopilot system.....is this a DIY job or does it need to be installed by a professional?

    Where is my blower?

I'm not sure what you mean. There is a blower somwhere in the bilge that needs to be run prior to running the generator. I found some vent hose along the port side stern, but was not able to locate the actual blower motor. Gerrys suggested it is behind the batteries. I recently replaced my...

    Where is my blower?

I have a 2000 Marlin 300 with a factory installed generator. Can someone tell me where my blower is located? I don't hear it running when I turn it on and I am concerned that it is not working.

    '99 Yamaha 225hp OX66 issues

I am new to these engines, but am fairly mechanical. I just completely serviced both of my 2000 OX66 250's. One thing I have learned is that these motors are relatively easy to work on, and most of their issues can be traced to fuel related issues. Your engine has 3 low pressure fuel pumps on...

    Marlin 300 wiring questions

I spoke to Grady and determined that my battery wires are 4 gauge. I was told that the wiring in 2000 was straight copper. I may replace all of my battery wires with 2 gauge tinned wired. My windlass is definitely wired to my house batteries because when it was bogging down it was tripping...

    Marlin 300 wiring questions

I am having an issue with low voltage from my house batteries and I believe I may be suffering from corrosion issues. I went through all my battery cables and cleaned them with a dremel, but I think some of the corrosion I saw may be in the actual wiring. Can someone tell me what gauge wiring...
