Really? I've heard nothing but good things about Raymarine. What are the knocks? From what I've heard, outside of Furuno, Raymarine is top of the line.

Thanks for the responses. I called around today and got varying answers. Calling a nearby marina, the first person we talked to said to use a barrier coat, followed by hard paint and ablative. Said to drive the boat up to them so they could mark the water line while it was in the water...
