Great pics! Looks like a lot of fun. Can't wait to get in the water for this season.

Advise on Windlass Install on a 208 Adventure

Really interesting option. Thanks for the pics and idea. The windlass is really my father's call, but I'll run this by him. Certainly would be more cost effective.

I'll look into the moisture issue, thanks. As for the price, the A65 I listed above is $350 because it is a discontinued, end-or-life unit. It's current replacement, the A70D is $1,400.

Really? I've heard nothing but good things about Raymarine. What are the knocks? From what I've heard, outside of Furuno, Raymarine is top of the line.

    Advise on Raymarine A65 System

I'm trying to outfit my new-to-me Grady White 208 Adventure with a new electronics package. I'm looking to spend no more (or not much more) than $1000 on a dual-function unit with as large a screen as possible. Right now, I think I've narrowed my search to the now end-of-life Raymarine...

    Bottom Paint

Thanks for the responses. I called around today and got varying answers. Calling a nearby marina, the first person we talked to said to use a barrier coat, followed by hard paint and ablative. Said to drive the boat up to them so they could mark the water line while it was in the water...

Advise on Windlass Install on a 208 Adventure

Just purchased a 2002 GW 208 Adventure. One of the first things we want to put on this boat is an anchor windlass. It does not have a bow pulpit, and the cost of one ($1200 - $1500 from Grady from what I read here) is prohibitive on top of the cost of the windlass itself. So, we're planning...

    Bottom Paint

I've been lurking around for a while siphoning off great bits of wisdom (great forum, btw). Today we finally took the plunge and purchased our first Grady White, so I figured I should register and officially say hi. Of course, I also have a question (with many more to come most likely)...
