UPDATE: prop advice 208 with sx150 yami

Re: Need prop advice 208 with sx150 yami That's good info SeaSick. I'd be a little wary of buying a used prop as you point out. Which Prop Shop did you send yours to? There's a lot of stuff floating around the Western Sound right now, Ive been lucky so far. Glad to hear that you got it fixed up.

    1997 208 Adventure

That's a question that will get a lot of different answers! It depends on what your "medium" load is. With fuel, water, people and gear on board your going to be pushing a boat weighing 4000-4500 lbs. maybe more with that Honda. With a 200 hp 4 stroke Yamaha the best fuel efficiency is at 3800...

Bimini up or down at the Dock?

Seasick, that's the same way I've always thought about it. In the early season and late Fall I've got the curtains all zipped in so everything stays clean in the cockpit, and once things warm up I use a cockpit cover and stow all of the curtains at home. I guess folks are concerned about U.V...

Bimini up or down at the Dock?

Hi All, I've always just left mine up but looking around the Marina I notice that some folks are folding them up and putting on the boot at the end of the day after tying up. I don't think many guys ever did that before. What's the proper way When leaving the boat at the Dock - up or stored in...

how often do you run WOT

I'd be interested in hearing from any mechanics here on the Board. I usually run it up if conditions allow just to clean it out after trolling around or repeated starts and stops while fishing. It seems like a good idea to blow it out for a few minutes but I'd like to hear what a pro thinks.

    Will a Garmin 741xs fit in 2000 208 e-box?

I mounted mine inside the electronics box with plenty of room to spare. No problems installing or using it inside the compartment. I like to throw a dark tee shirt over it and the radio and lock it up. It all stays nice - clean and dry.

Fuel Guage and Sending Unit Problems -Update-

Re: Fuel Guage and Sending Unit Problems I can relate. I put a brand new 208 in last year and 3 months later the fuel gauge was blinking one bar with a full tank. My Dealer said it would be repaired before I get it back this season.

    Bottom Paint - Trailerable Boat

I leave mine in the water so bottom paint is a necessary evil, but man that clean bottom looks great! Really nice job!

    full enclosure questions

I've got the Grady Enclosure. Front, side and rear drop curtain. I use it early and late season and like it very much! Mid May to Mid September I take it off and just use a CockPit Cover while the boat is in its Slip.

    Yamaha F200 in line 4 on a 20' walkaround

I've got the 200 on my new 208 and I like it very much. It may be a bit slower coming out of the hole than my old V-6 150 2 stroke, but it has great midrange, better fuel mileage and a bit better top end at around 43MPH. I'd recommend it. Starts instantly with no choking or smoking, settles...

Is a 2008 150 Yamaha adequate power for an overnighter

I had a '96 208 with a Yamaha 150 on it for 18 years and thought it was fine. My 2015 came with a Yamaha 200 4 Stroke and while the 200 has a better top speed and is more fuel efficient, I actually think that the 6 Cylinder 150 had a little better punch out of the hole. I used to fish with 2...

    Is Grady Quality still There?

This is a brand new 2015. I don't think neglect is the issue, and having owned my '96 208 for 18 years I thought I knew what to expect when I bought another 208 from Grady White. I'm not sure this one will be as bullet proof as my last one. Hopefully it's just a couple of kinks to get worked out.
