    puttering at low speed

puttering I had similar problem last year. Turned out to be the ball valve at the tank being clogged. Someone from this site told me to look there and that was it. I was just happy it wasn`t anything expensive. T

    Gas Tank Question

Tabk Question Thanks I just got the quote from RDS and plan to place the order. Yes, if you could share your tank replacement story it would be helpful. My hoses look fine, but I have heard the same about replacing the hoses as well. Were they hard to get out and back in ? T

Tank Thanks for all the input. I got the tank print from Grady and plan to go with the exact replacement. Will send to RDS and Speedy Tanks to compare prices. Should drop right in and I will be sure to insulate and anchor properly. I`ll post a response when I get it done.

    Gas Tank Question

I need to replace my tank. It is a 40 Gal Aluminum. I am leaning toward the Plastic tanks, but the do not have a 40 gal. that fits. So, I would have to go with a smaller tank, like a 26 or 30 gal tank. Probably not a big deal and may be better since less gas in all, and I probably wont take any...

SeaDek combing pads anyone got them?

SEADEK After reading this post I sent for a sample. Seems like a good product. Not quite as soft as I thought it would be. I thought it would be more Spongy but it is like a stiff sponge. I considered using it in the bow area as a seat cushion back. Niot sure about it there, but for coaming...

minimum hp for GW 19' tournament

motor size I have a Suzuki DT 140 2 stroke and it works great on my 85 Tournament 19 It has the 20" shaft which is what is listed for the boat. The boat planes out nice and moves well. I would think a 25" shaft would work but you would probably have to raise the motor. Not sure about that...

    New Switch Panel

mayerial That looks good also, I was wondering whether to use plexiglass or starboard or aluminum. Starboard was my first choice, but some people say it shrinks. I would think that a thick pc would do fine. Whenever, I get around to tackling the project, I`ll post pics

Fuel tank replacement request - 1990 Tournament 19ft

Tournament 19 Hi I1ll be honest, I have enjoyed your posts. The reason is I also have an older 19 ft Tournament. I`ll tell you my experiences so far and then offers some advice. First, I bought mine at the end of the summer 2008. I saw it on Craigslist advertised for $7,000. 1985...

Wanted - Grady White (back-to-back) seats (new)

Seats At the time I called Crockers Marine. They could sell me the exact seats but they were like $900 I bought the back to back and the captains seat with a bolster from Vaeda for about $500. You can get seats for less than that at West Marine or Iboats, but most have a short base. The...

Wanted - Grady White (back-to-back) seats (new)

Seats I tried to get the GW model Back to Back seats but they were expensive. I got mine at VEADA. They make a good quality seat and the base is a little taller than the standard type at West Marine T

    Boat filled with water

Boat filled Went back today and all was fine, boat was sittin up just like as last night when I bailed it. Took it out and went over to Swansboro, no problems. So far appears to be a poor tie-up that caused the water to come in. I`m just glad there was no major damage, at least not that I...

    Boat filled with water

I brought the boat (19 ft tournament 140 Suzuki) on Thanksgiving Vacation and launched it and docked it at the local Marina. Figured with some decent weather (North Carolina, Emerald Isle)we could cruise and fish a little before putting it away for the season. Thursday was excellent and all...

    First problem with motor today

motor problem Well I did have 8 people on the boat and pulling a tube, it could have been too much load as well. But, I should have been able to cruise back into port, I would think. I might have over done it a bit with the kids and the tube. T

    First problem with motor today

motor problem Well, today I took apart the whole line from tank to motor, checked the ball valve in the tank, confirmed all lines were open, replaced the fuel water filter and cleaned the spark plugs. Put the suction cups on and it fired right up. Gave it a little throttle and ran smooth...

    First problem with motor today

motor problem Just did some cheking. I think it might be a blockage, Can`t get fuel to flow when I squeeze the ball with the hose off. Blew into the tank and could not get air to pass. Tried it with an air compressor as well, no free flow of air. If there is a blockage, what`s the best way...

    First problem with motor today

Had the kids out tuning today and all was fine until the end of the day, the motor (suzuki DT 140 outboard) acted up. Basically, it seemed starved for fuel. The motor would start then as soon as I gave it throttle, it would start to go, then bog down and cut out. Sometimes if I waited a while...
