    yamaha 250's vs 350's

If you are in Richmond (like me) I hope you are dealing with Southeastern. I have a single 250 on a GW 225 and like it.

    Considering New Boat Purchase

I have an 08 225. If you are saying the sale price before add ons is $71K plus, it sounds high to me. mid 60s or so sounds about right. But I had some boat show and Yamaha incentives.

    Boarding question

I just traded a 208 for a 225 and with kids and occassionally my mother in law it can be problematic boarding the boat in my my boathouse with the lift lowered. I don't have a hard top so there is nothing much to grab. I have seen aluminum poles you can stick in rodholders and steps etc. Any...

    225 came--thanks Southeastern

The guys from Southeastern Marine pulled up to my river house right on time and with military precision removed my trade, a 208, from the boathouse and left in its place an 08 225. My luck the maiden voyage was in pretty choppy water but I got to see how much more stable the 225 feels...

Is there any way to test for stability, ride , etc

There are many posts about the ride quality of various Gradys and other boats (ie touting the V hull etc) . I have asked several that include "will I notice much difference in ride between a 208 and 225?" But surely the manufacturers must have some way of testing the stabilty in say 3-4 foot...

Geez, I envy you Fla and SoCal guys

I am anxiously awaiting switching out my 208 for a new 225. I went down to my boathouse near the Chesapeake Bay today to fix up some things, and although it was unusually warm (45) I couldn't help but think of how nice it would be to take out the Grady year round. You guys are lucky.

I just bought a 225 from Mickey at Southeastern last Saturday. He is the owner's son and a really good kid to work with.

How many of you name your boats?

I have a 208 and have resisted the urges of my kids to letter a name on the boat. I am now moving to a 225 and the cries for a boat name are back. How many of you all do this? Is it hard to remove the name at resale (which I am sure I will do in a couple years)? I haven't seen any advantage...

Our new Tourney 225 - a few pics

Slingshot. Thanks for the pics. My son and I went over to the dealer yesterday and bought a 225 and it was indoors just like your pics. I am glad you took pics--I didn't and it gives me something to look forward to. We almost bit on the 275. I am 6'4" and my son is 6'7" but we felt like...

Difference between "no feedback steering" /hydraul

I am moving from a 208 with no feedback steering to a 225 with hydraulic tilt steering. What's the difference and does it matter much in terms of handling? Thanks

FINALLY--ended up getting 225--thanks for all your help

As you know I have had numerous posts about going from my 208 to a Gulfstream, 275 or 225. After a lot of help from here, a lot of reading and attending 2 boat shows I got a 2008 225 today. My reasons are as follows: 1.I love the wide beam of the 232 but the cuddy is just wasted on us and we...

    Is a 225 much more stable than a 208?

I measured my boathouse and the 275 is a close call.Plus my lift is rated at 8000 and the 275 with fuel would push the envelope. So now I am looking at a 225 tournament. But, with just 2 more feet will this be much improvment in ride?

Took my wife to the boat show--it is getting more confusing

Ok, as posted eleswhere I was looking at a Gulfstream 232 . Then I took my wife to boat show and she (who is not big on replacing our 208 to begin with) sees a Tournament 225 and says " I like the layout better, we never use the cuddy anyway". So then I start looking at a 275 Tournament and...
