    Battery Charger: Prosport 12....Installed

I am installing the blue rope lighting, ultimately because it will match my future underwater lighting. I sword and snapper fish at night, and it will be nice not to worry about the battery drain from the incandescents on board. Have you installed a new breaker panel to support the extra...

    Battery Charger: Prosport 12....Installed

I plan on doing the same comparison once I get past a few of the "essential" projects. I am ordering the rope lighting from this place.. http://www.cbconcept.com/led-166warmwhi ... 1-1-1.aspx "Outdoor" 12v lighting, connections included for $15/6'6" section in blue.

Mounting Bilge Pumps and Float Switches

As it turns out there is a glassed mounting pad that is about the same size as the single pump and switch footprint (tiny). I will still need to extend this mounting surface to accomodate the additional pump.......Next week.

    Bahamas Trip - June 24th - 28th, 2009

Please let me know next time you are getting together to disccuss this run. I am interested in joining the group but would like to meet a fw members in person first. FYI: I am running over to Lucaya with 10 + or - boats from Jupiter to Boca on Memorial Day weekend. Any other GW's crossing...

    Battery Charger: Prosport 12....Installed

Update: Prosport 12 Gen 2 Charger installed (I use that term loosely, seriously the simplest upgrade out there) Thursday afternoon and plugged in. 24hr Charge on (1) fully discharged and (1) partially discharged battery Boat launched Friday night. Used off and on all weekend with full...

Need Help From Guys Who Tow, Pls

The Tacoma will work great, especially if your getting a 4x4. The upgrade will eventually pay for itself by you not having to replace rear tires as quickly. Nice truck all around.

    My new ride

Looks great! More than enough for the dolphin run! Don't rule out the Bahamas this summer, when the winds calm down its a short ride. I'm heading over a couple times again, never with less than 2 other boats though. Did Salyer's do your engine swap? Great guys there.

    New Truck

And this is in comparison to my last couple tow vehicles and their respective loads..... F-150.....5,000lb trailer GMC 2500.......10,000lb trailer Ram 1500.......4,000lb trailer

    New Truck

You may want to expand a bit on your needs and preferences. I currently tow my 208 with a late model 4x4 v6 Tacoma. The truck is fine for what I do with it (6500lb capacity) because my average round trip every weekend is less than 5 miles. I make about (4) 100+ mile trips each year and for...

    Battery Charger: Prosport 12....Installed

I spoke with the Interstate tech department, the gentleman there indicated that 6a each is the recommended charge rate for my group 24batts. The prosport12 charger is ideal for my setup. It will also be sufficient if i decide to upgrade one battery to a larger house and convert the system over...

    Battery Charger: Prosport 12....Installed

Thats good advice, last night I drew the same conclusion, called west marine down the road and will be picking up the ps20amp charger this afternoon. I have a few more electronic improvements to make that will increase my amp draw substantially so better to spend it now than double it later.

    Hardtop make sense?

I agree that you should see a little better mileage out of the larger engine, 200hp seems like a perfect match for this boat. Dont hesitate to share your improvements once you get the thing in the driveway, I have a feeling I would be flat broke if I had a couple months each year just to...

    Battery Charger: Prosport 12....Installed

The prosport charger looked most attractive to me due to the fact that it has what they call "distributed-on-demand" charging where it will distribute the charge as needed between the two batteries for example; 2amp to the 1st and 10amp to the 2nd battery or whatever spread it senses as...

Mounting Bilge Pumps and Float Switches

Since my boat doesnt have the glassed mounting pad, I plan on using the existing pump screw holes w/ 5200 to mount the plate to the hull for 2 pumps and 2 switches. If I plan this properly it should make testing/replacing the pumps and switches a breeze. Bilge could stand to be cleaned anyways.

    Battery Charger: Prosport 12....Installed

I'd say worst case the charger would be plugged in from 6pm till 6am. With only 1 of the 2 batteries being substantially discharged you dont think the 12amp charger would make any headway? Normally I would say "might as well" but the lack of mounting space will make the larger-bodied 20amp...

    Hardtop make sense?

Definitely shop around, 6k is high. As someone already mentioned the fiberglass portion of the top drives the cost up significantly so canvas coverings are popular (and less weight). A radar arch in combination with a bimini will also serve the same function for way less $$. PS: There is...

    Hardtop make sense?

Power will definitely not be an issue. My top is factory (but added by the dealer at the time of original purchase)I still can hit 45mph WOT, light, on calm water. If you fish then you already know how much the 208 severely lacks in (accessible) rod storage. As far as electronics storage...

    Hardtop make sense?

I own a 208 with a hardtop and fully agree with everything said above. IMO the top amplifies the space on a smaller boat by getting everything up and out of the way. I have had boats without them as well but will likely never go back to a bimini. The initial cost is not cheap and no one will...

Mounting Bilge Pumps and Float Switches

Multiple transom-mount transducers, sensors, etc are often mouted to a plate to avoid unnecessary drilling I am looking for a way to avoid additional screws in the bottom of my bilge when I install an additional pump and switch. Has anyone tried mounting a starboard (or other suggested...

    Battery Charger: Prosport 12....Installed

After some more in-depth reading into the promariner chargers I am going to start with the prosport 12 dual bank charger mounted to my existing setup. Since my bank will not exceed 2 batts (1 fully discharged at any given time), the 20amp seems to be more overkill than necessary since each...
