Not happy with my shrink wrap job

I had my Sailfish shrink wrapped this year for about $300 and am not happy with the job - he left the swim platform exposed just taping the wrap to the forward part of the Eurotransom. The motor-well spent the winter full of ice and snow as shown in the photograph. He charged $11/foot, I should...

    Coring Floor Hatch with Foam

I don't know exactly - someone who has been "building boats for 35 years" told me to do it that way so I did. I would guess it has to do with improving the bond and helping to assure there are no voids between the hatch and the plywood. Maybe you won't need to since the foam won't absorb resin...

    Coring Floor Hatch with Foam

Interesting experiment. The holes though the foam will be key I think. I'll bet it would work if you cut it up into 6" blocks like the original plywood, left some space between the blocks, and used a layer of mat on both sides. It will essentially be a torsion box which are very strong.

Flex in Glass in Gas Tank Compartment -91'-24' Offshore

I think I'd be temped to probe the area by drilling a few small holes and seeing what you find.

Snake a network cable on a Sailfish

Hi - I want to add a network to my 272-style Sailfish and will have to snake the network cable from the engines to the helm. Is snaking that cable going to be difficult?

Thanks for all the information - Sailfish 282!

I wanted use of the microwave and added an inverter which is discussed here viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20373&p=128087&hilit=inverter#p128087 Fresh hot microwave popcorn at sea was a big hit last year. I do miss not having any draw space in the cabin and use the fridge for miscellaneous storage.

My boat, Bowdoin II, was on page 2 of the thread: 6" font, same color as the trim.

Thanks for all the information - Sailfish 282!

I've got a 272 style and I love it. I've only owned it for only a year so i'm still in the honeymoon period. I've got E-tec 200HOs on mine which are 220HP. My performance numbers are here: http://www.etecownersgroup.com/post/reb ... 1278724041 I feel like this boat is just perfect for me in...

Drilled another hole in the Grady / 2nd bilge

I like open switches also. I like to reach down and lift the switch last thing after turning the batteries off and leaving the boat.

    Trim piece fix?

It's shaped like U-channel that wraps around the edge of the plywood. Hogging that out of a piece of starboard might be a little tricky - maybe repeated passes over the table saw with the blade sticking up just a little.

    Trim piece fix?

Is this trim material available or is there a good substitute? This is the trim around the opening at the top step in the cabin of my Sailfish.

    Canyon range of Grady Marlin

Anyone try this with a Sailfish? (weather permitting)? The fuel capacity is less, 200 gal vs 300, but MPG is better - say 1.4 (according to the review below) vs 1 MPG. Marlin: 300 gal x 1 MPG = 300 miles Sailfish: 200 gal X 1.4 MPG = 280 miles http://www.sportfishingmag.com/boats/bo ...

In need of manual and diagrams and parts info

If you found a manual, I think you would be disappointing with how little information it contained. For example, you can go to Gradywhite.com and download the 1978 manual and take a look. It is very generic and one manual covered the whole "fleet". They seem to be geared to helping a first-time...
