I fixed it at least for now. After talking to a couple of mechanics, I tightened bolt #17 on the diagram and it tightened up nicely. We will se how long it lasts.

No its not in the steering linkage. On the top of the mounting bracket, there is a rod with nuts on each side and grease fittings on each side that runs through the motor. Seems like that rod is what holds the motor on the mounting bracket. Its right over the transom. The motor is walloring...

When I was coming in the other day, I noticed my port enginge was gyrating at speed. When I got back to the dock and looked at it, it seems there is a lot of play in the mounting bracket rod/bushing. Anybody else ever have this happen?

When my marina went to ethanol fuel I went from 6100 rpms at wot to 5700. This summer they went back to ethanol free and I am now back at 6100 I think the fastest I ever hit with ethanol free was 41 mph on the gps. My best fuel economy is 1.2 mpg at about 5200 rpms.

I repowered my 330 from 225s to 250s. I ran it yesterday and got about 1.2 miles per gallon at 27 miles per hour full of fuel. My marina switched to ethanol free and I have seen a big pick up in speed (3 knots) and an increase in efficency.

Its the water pump on the generator.

I can't tell you the exact amount, but a gallon jug is more than enough to do twin 250s.

Mine stay in the middle most of the time and go a bit above and below from time to time. Since they both do it at the same time I assume that is normal.

I have a 330 that had 225s on it when I bought it. I repowered with 250s and honestly the 250s are maybe slightly faster and burn a bit more fuel. In my experience the 225s are fine if the hours are low. I put a bow thruster on mine and love it. It is really nice when you are by yourself...
