    VSR question

SOLVED!!! One set of charger leads had corroded near the in-line fuse. I found this out as I pulled apart the cover to inspect the fuse and the wire literally fell out in my hand with white powder the only evidence of copper wire. Recall PO only used two of the leads (although Promariner...

    VSR question

Yes SkunkBoat, that's exactly what I'm headed for. I've solved the charging issue from the motors with VSR's (that I had already purchased or else I'd go toward your recommendation of using the engines to also charge house). Both isolated starting batteries have a VSR that opens to the house so...

    Marlin grounding

I think I found my answer, it appears to be Starboard motor on my boat. Unsure as to how it all works exactly, but as long as I’ve got my negatives all ending up tied to the same point, including motors, I’m good. ?

    VSR question

Found my answer, yes! I think I see it is Starboard motor that ends up being common ground... any input on grounding?

    VSR question

Thanks Skunkboat! I’m familiar with your 265 mods. I’ll look into it for sure. Still looking for the answer to the question if a house bank can be charged by two VSR’s in my setup.

    Marlin grounding

I’m reconfiguring my battery supply. Two starting batteries one for Port one for starboard and a house bank too. I’m confident of all the hookups in the battery compartment, and would lik to assure from another source what exactly the batteries ground TO? Basically what’s the...

    VSR question

Hi fellas, Redoing battery config finally. Setup will be two isolated group 24's, one for each engine, starter and alternator, there will be nothing else attached except one bilge pump per. I am replacing the two group 27's with new as a true house bank where everything else will draw...

Raymarine Ray70 VHF w AIS receiver

Went w the Ray70, arrived today, install tonight. Tomorrow, spot shrimp! I spent the extra to have the Raymarine SeaTLk cable plug and play to my Axiom MFD, I know it’s not that tough to integrate NMEA 2000 into SeaTalk. But figured sticking w same may be easiest and I don’t want to second...

Raymarine Ray70 VHF w AIS receiver

My Icom VHF just crapped out. On/off button, and I've been having some transmission/recieving questions recently anyway. Time for a new one. Since I have a recent Raymarine install with Lighthouse III and Axiom on my MFD's which have AIS transmission, I was considering adding a receiver...

    Marlin Diesel tank

Good point, Journeyman, I have the same filter and these instructions I have not lost. They say the filter is designed for both pressure side or pull side up to 100gph. I think the Walbro pump is 15gph max... Looks like I’m covered. I’ll report back on my success at the boat tomorrow!

    Marlin Diesel tank

Funny you should say that DennisG01, as I first started this procedure I called FP, they said they weren’t responsible for anything outside “the box” and to call Grady. Grady said call FP. The Walbro pump instructions said (before I misplaced them) to place a filter before the pump. I’m sure...

    Marlin Diesel tank

Awesome, Journeyman! Can I get that URL so I can scroll the GW schematic? I will reverse the pump, as I would prefer (so would Walbro) to have the filter upstream of the pump... Anyone disagree that it’s preferred to have the filter ahead of the pump? Again, Thanks.

    Marlin Diesel tank

Thanks, Jim. I did replace all the lines and barbs except for the one that leads from my replacements to the generator itself, which is the lowest hose there I never touched other than to attach a hose clamp to the new barb. Regardless, I put the filter and pump back in place where the...

    Marlin Diesel tank

Why does my generator run perfectly if the pump is cycling fuel this direction? Should I reverse the flow, or move the filter, or don't do anything because despite the filter being on the wrong side, the internal filter is doing it's job and diesel is basically being polished each time around...

    Marlin Diesel tank

Here's the schematic I read AFTER installing the pump.... showing direction of flow as opposite of how I intended to install, and how one would imagine the correct flow to be based on relationship of tank, filter and pump positioning in the line.

    Marlin Diesel tank

Maybe....? Yes, as it looks from the outside, the line coming from the top of the tank leads to the filter, then the pump, then leaves the pump to disappear behind my genny housing to hook into one of the two ports in the back. One would assume the unobservable return hose flows from the other...

    Marlin Diesel tank

This is a can of worms that I don't want to feel bad dragging you guys into, so I think I can get my answer if I just ask one question to Marlin 300 owners from my era (2007) who have a diesel tank installed in the aft bilge that supplies their Mini4+ Fischer Panda Generator: Here's the...

    Marlin fresh water system

I'll go look tonight, but yes someone answer the question of where so the thread can have an answer. A couple winters back I had a hose split on the run from the hot water tank forward to the head faucet. That was a real learning experience... by removing the panel in the mid-berth on STBD I...
