    This is a great read. I just sold my 265 after 14 years of owndership and am looking for a 2012 - 2013 Marlin for most of the above reasons. Viking88rd, we had a glass guy make a hinge in our aft access, it was expensive and not perfect but exactly what any do-it-yourselfer wants.

    I take mine out every spring and wire brush off any salt. Also replace every two-three years. A friend who is a Yammy mechanic suggested a thin coat of marine grease on the gasket. Never have any issues removing now. The screwdriver tip should work for you. Good luck!

    Best bet and first call for stuff like this should be to Grady White customer service. We just went thru this with our 265 express. Called Grady and within minutes had the correct size and part numbers for the job. We are pretty hands on and do a lot of work ourselves but pushed this job onto...
