Looking of Purchasing My First Grady White

Take a look at the 275 Freedom. You mentioned wife, kids, Bahamas so you a least need something this size.

    Trailering a 330 express

1/2 tons today just describes the class of truck by size. It used to be based on cargo carrying capacity (payload) and not vehicle weight. Many of today's F-150s have over 2000 lbs. of payload thus making it a 1-ton vehicle by description. Anyway, that is way too much boat for a half ton...

Will your Grady float if capsized or swamped?

Funny I was thinking the same thing by keeping up with this on THT. There is a lot of gray area and discussion about flotation for the 2001 Robalos. Anyway was wondering if anyone has any real world knowledge on how the Grady's would handle this.

    Bimini Top Frame Part

Thanks, knew I could get an answer here. Guess I don't need them after all. They where broke when I bought the boat, thought they may be for laying down the top on the gunwhales. I have enough of the single spacers for the few times I use the curtains.

    Tubing, Fisheman 216 - 2018 model.

Do you have trim tabs? I ask because my 205 came without them and these hulls do not perform unless you have them.

2018 GW Freedom 235 Stern Cleats Failing

Man that is not good. Not sure if I am sold on these style cleats to begin with.

    Freedom Back to Back Seat

Probably the result of someone sitting on the end. It is the aluminum scissor mechanism you mentioned I am concerned about.

    Freedom Back to Back Seat

I am talking about sitting on the end with the seat extended in the down position.

    Freedom Back to Back Seat

Does anyone have any idea on how much weight one of these seat ends can hold when fully extended? I am talking about sitting on the very end, I had to tell someone who started to sit down there not to do it but it is not designed to support that much weight.

    Bow access ladder from trailer?

This works for me. I stand on the platform, grab the bow cleats and pull myself putting one foot on the winch post step.

What year did Grady stop using wood in the transom?

My 2011 205 Freedom has wood in the transom.

    Moving Boat Forward on Trailer

Thanks for all the advice. One thing I did notice if I moved it forward it would lower the bow. The V support location and decrease in deadrise would require that to be adjusted also. It is already difficult enough to drain water from the bilge. Anyway taking the easy path and leaving it as is.

    Moving Boat Forward on Trailer

Mine is also for a 20-22'. By looking at your setup from the best I can tell, your boat is sitting a little forward of mine. Anyway I pretty well made up my mind to just cut the boards. It tows and launches fine and my rear truck tires stay dry.

    Moving Boat Forward on Trailer

Come to think of it though, by having the long tongue and the boat sitting further back it keeps my truck higher on the ramp. My previous boat sometimes you had to just about put your rear tires in the water.

    Moving Boat Forward on Trailer

I guess I will just leave well enough alone and cut the boards. This thing tows and launchs flawlessly, I picked it up this spring in the mountains of North Carolina and drove to the Gulf Coast with no problem. Thanks for the advice.

    Moving Boat Forward on Trailer

I am in the process of installing trim tabs on my 205 Freedom. The boards on my trailer extend out about 15 inches from the transom. I was just about ready to cut them off even but now I am thinking if I should move the boat forward some before doing this. Now this is where I need help. Is the...

    Need Help With Bimini Enclosure

I just have the full front and two side curtains, no aft. Where I have a problem is installing the side curtains, should I zipper them first or snap them in place first. They are quite tight and are easier to zipper first but the snaps are harder to get to.

    Need Help With Bimini Enclosure

Hello looking for someone who knows the correct sequence for installing the front and side curtains on a bimini top enclosure. I have installed in my yard but see it might be very difficult while in the water.
