Livewell pump runs but it won't fill

Photo of the pump please... Putting a hose in it doesn't prove anything except the hose works. If you are telling us that water will come in from the hose attached to the thru hull then the thru hull and valve (if there is one) is are clear. The pump is bad. Take it out and test it.

Livewell pump runs but it won't fill

If the above two checks are ok pull the pump. It's probably a Rule pump that twists and pulls off. I have impellers break off the shaft. Picture of pump would bee helpful.

    Console Windshield fasteners loose

OK. So what have you found... As Seasick said do the screws come out or are the captive? Can you get behind it to see if they are thru bolted? It's not material failure it's loose screws. Now you need to figure out why and repair properly. That boat should be under warranty. The dealer and GW...

    Newbie Question

Those fittings are above the waterline. Trace them out. Scuppers are same height as the deck. If water is getting in that is where I would look. Bad scupper hoses are a common problem with older boats. Boat should not list to starboard. Work this harder and help us help you.

    Top & Windshield Upgrade

I have a one piece polycarbonate front. It does get warm even without the sides and vent windows open. I like the idea or venting the top. I'll try that on my next version.

    Console Windshield fasteners loose

Try to get behind it to install new screws with washers and nuts. You could also go to a larger oval hard screw with finish washers and may a grommet behind it. Make sure you bed the screws is something like 3M4000. If not bedded screws work loose and "saw" away at the hole. Eventually you get...

    226 Seafarer anchor light wire

Difficult to splice or impossible to splice? There is a difference. How about a pic? I doubt you will find a "trick" way to replace that wire internally. Trace it from the switch to the windshield. Cut any tie wraps. Try to feed some slack to the windshield and see if you can gently pull more...

    226 Seafarer anchor light wire

If the wire is not broken and you have a little of it exposed spllce, solder and shrink a new wire on. Crimps are too bulky. My best advice is not to try to pull thru a new wire. If you must run a new wire I would take the windshield apart. But be careful - parts for your windshield are no...

    rain water 265 express

Water could be coming from anywhere on the boat. GW has a 1/2" PVC pipe imbedded in the hull that runs from the forward bilge to the aft bilge. Sometimes it's plugged to prevent water from aft bilge getting to the forward bilge. They isolate forward bilge from mid/aft bilge. Probably done to...

    Pilot seat base repair

Pictures are always helpful. I have no idea what your boat looks like, where this is happening and what is underneath. My seat slide is thru bolted. You have to take the cabinet underneath out to get to them. Can you get underneath the seat? Maybe there are nuts spinning back there. Get under...

Macerator not pumping in GS 232

I haver always had problems with these pumps lifting. They quote: Jabsco macerator pumps are capable of self-priming and lifting waste water vertically. A typical Jabsco macerator pump can lift waste water up to 4-5 feet (1.2-1.5 meters) vertically. Hasn't been my experience. Pumps above the...

    Hardtop fiberglass repair

I refinished my hardtop a few years ago. Gelcoat chipping all around and heavy chalking. Also no reinforcement for the rigger bases leading to stress cracks. AwlGrip epoxy fairing, AwlGrip epoxy paint. Coosa composite board for rigger base reinforcement. Topside non-skid underside car hood...

Macerator not pumping in GS 232

Put a picture or two up of your tank and macerator. What is the manufacturer and model of the macerator. Older GW used a in-tank Groco macerator. I switched to a Jabsco. It has the ability to "lift" material from the tank into the pump. This is a great pump but you can burn the impeller up if...

20 year old varnish in tank 208

It's not varnish. It's discolored water. And you probably still have more in the tank. You won't get it out unless you shake up the tanks and run it. Getting the tanks cleaned up is a delicate process. You got lots of good advice-follow it. It is a slow process. If you can't handle it best...
