    Help w/ the Head .

Ok. Let's start for what I forgot to tell. The boat is a 1998 268 Islander. The toilet is a Jabsco 29020-2000 Manual toilet standard bowl ( hand pump ). There are 2 Seacocks under the stairs (one for inlet on the starboard side and the other on port side for the discharge). If I drop water from...

    Help w/ the Head .

This past week end I went to the water and tried to check the condition of my boat's Head. The jabsco is the type w/ push pump and it uses sea water for flushing. I started opening the valve under the stairs for the water to come in and nothing, then i dropped some water from the sink and the...

    Cockpit dome light

Hookup1 I had no idea that GW did that, I now have a dome light w/ dual colors LED and the spread light is working on a push button switch installed on the box of the hard top. To tell you the truth, I like this way better.

    Cockpit dome light

My dome light stopped working so, I tried to remove the lens and change the bulb (courtesy light ) IMPOSSIBLE !!! I ended up braking the fixture, the lens didn't come of. So I was looking for a replacement and nowhere it can be found. T My solution was to buy a dual color LED 4" dome light on...

    Solar power

Thanks Guys. I guess i will be much safer buying a Honda 1000 inverter and using it connected to the inboard charger (if the battery guts low)

    Solar power

Seasick and dogdoc . Thanks for the answers. Now. let me be clear: My boat stays in a place where there is not a chance of having an extension to connect to the factory supplied charger, my idea is to have a solar keeping/ maintaining the batteries charged as well as if I'm on the water (w/ the...

    Solar power

I have a GW w/ a hard T top and don't have where to connect a extension to charge my batteries ( I meant no place outside). I was thinking of buying a solar panel to charge the batteries (2). Does anyone have it done? What brand/size and cost ? Does it works as expected?. Thanks for reading and...

    New Hatch for Islander.

Hi Guys. I did it myself!!! I had a piece of 5 ply 5/8" from an old job and used it to do the re-core. I made the stiffening pieces (like a ladder) w/ 2 pieces of the same plywood screwed and glued together. Reading/learning on the web i decided to use epoxy for sealing the plywood and glue on...

Islander 268 - Anyone ever pulled forward gas tank

Hi Guys. I did screwed up. Found out that the "missing tank" is not the main, it's the reserve ( 72 gallons). and I guess this boat never had it since there is only one intake for gasoline.

New 1996 Grady White Islander 268 with twin 200 V6 Mercs

Looking at your photos i was able to see the "cover" on the stairs you were talking about, and those photos made me have another question: What for are those 2 inserts on the transom (port side)?

    Higher Fuel Prices

Regular gas around here is at $4.39 / $4.59. I have not looked for the "ethanol free" prices, but I hope this summer i won't have to be on the closest sandbar

    Gas tank, main/aux, Valve location

Thanks Hookup1. Went to see the boat and on the port side compartment I have no "trash bucket" and i see nowhere a hint of those valves. I asked the mechanic and he says that "maybe " there was no other gas tank since there is only one location to fill up. Is that correct ? could that be the...

    Gas tank, main/aux, Valve location

Hi guys. Another question: I have a 1998 268 Islander and seems like the former owner did some stuff that i was not aware (removing the main tank was one of those) so, I will be here asking many questions. this one is: Does any owner of an Islander know (of course yes) where the location for...
