I get 2 MPG at cruise (16 GPH at 32 MPH) on my Freedom 275 with a F350.
My F350 is an "A" model with nearly 800 hours and running strong.
I need to look into this Nizpro tune...
Bumping this thread... I have a 2011 Freedom 275 on which I'd like to update the seating. I have the electromechanically adjustable helm and extendable companion lounge seat. From looking at pictures online it seems like Grady is equipping new Freedom 255s with the same helm base and aft facing...
I bought a 2011 F350UCA (2nd generation) with about 750 hours earlier this year. I haven't had any problems with it - and it has no notable warranty claims on file. Yamaha told me by phone that they will cover replacement flywheels for the life of the engine.
I think the key to happiness with...
Does anyone here own a boat club franchise (Freedom or Carefree or another network)? If so I'd be interested in learning more about how hard it was to get started, what the economics look like, how challenging it is to run, etc.
I have a 2011 Freedom 275. The original factory aluminum bang cap over the transom has corroded and needs to be replaced. I know several of you all have had similar issues. I'm wondering your thoughts on replacing with stainless steel or vinyl (which I believe Grady uses on newer models) or...
I'm sure I could answer this question for myself by going over to the marina and poking around but how hard is it to replace the aft bilge pump on a Freedom 275? I think mine is burnt out.
I definitely pick my days going out of the Golden Gate. I think I went as far as the bridge once when I had a 22' boat. I've never been 10 miles out. You're a brave man.
The Grady 275 was equipped with a single Yamaha F350 as standard power for several years. I'm wondering if anyone has repowered with a single F425 and what the performance results were. I'm not due for a repower but just curious about twin 200s vs. a single 425 vs. twin 250s if I ever have to.
I bought a 2011 Freedom 275 with an F350 on it recently. At 750 hours, the engine passed a mechanical inspection and compression test fine with ~5% variation between the highest and lowest readings (a healthy engine has 10% or less variation). It hasn't given me any trouble.
The factory...
My F225 was running flawlessly at 15 years old - and continues to do so for its new owner. My assumption is that Yamaha engines will last 20 years or 2,000 hours, whichever comes first.
I have owned a 2011 F350 for a couple months. No problems in that short time, of course. Something that gave me confidence buying a boat with this engine is that they are relatively affordable on the used market - so while you may not be able to get a new one you could get a used replacement for...
This worked for my old 21' Robalo but it won't work for the new 27' Grady, even though it doesn't look too disproportionate. I'm shopping for an upgrade - probably something like a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD with the 8.1L or Duramax.
