    Southco hinges

I ended up having to order them from the local dealer ($23 a piece - or something like that). I figured if one popped the others are probably close behind so I went ahead and ordered all 6.

    Southco hinges

Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I could buy a new Southco hinge? The ones I am talking about are on the overhead electronics box in my 228 (they are also used on the dash electronics door). They are the detent style that hold the doors open at certain angles. One of mine popped this...

    Fuel tank selector valves

GradyFish is right. One valve for each engine. On my 2004 228 the pointer (the part you don't hold) points to the stern for the main tank and towards the bow for the aux tank.

    2006 228G Stereo Speakers

Mine do too. I kinda thought that was why we put waterproof speakers on the boats. No problems yet and I have cheapo Pyle speakers. What issues are you having and where are you going to move them to?

    Trailer Bearings

Sounds like you have either posi-lube (pump grease until it comes out the front) that went bad or sur-lube (pump grease until it comes out the back). Probably sur-lube working correctly and you were just mis-informed on how to use it. I have posi-lube and love it. I would think it would be...

    2006 228G Stereo Speakers

I put two box speakers on my hardtop next to my spreader lights. Also, I put two flush mount speakers in the access covers next to the fish boxes (I bought replacement covers to use as mounts so I could put the originals back if I changed my mind or sold the boat). It turned out pretty well...

228 - Water in forwardmost compartment

I wasn't so concerned with where it was coming from (pretty sure it is coming from the anchor locker) as I was why it didn't drain anywhere. I called Grady and spoke with Danny in Customer Relations. He confirmed that there should be a drain hole in the compartment I am talking about. he said...

228 - Water in forwardmost compartment

I wish the water was in my bilge. I would just assume the angle was wrong for it to drain back to the aft bilge. The problem I'm having is that water is collecting in the small compartment just aft of the anchor locker access hatch and not draining into the bilge. I'll call Grady tomorrow and...

228 - Water in forwardmost compartment

That was my thought as well. Where should the drain hole be? On the bottom of the compartment going towards the hull or on the lower portion of the aft wall of the compartment towards the porta-pottie (but not into the finished area where the pottie sits)?

228 - Water in forwardmost compartment

I keep finding water in the forwardmost compartment in the cabin (almost right under the anchor locker). There does not appear to be any drain hole in the compartment. I find that sorta odd since everything else in the boat drains somewhere. There is a small spot that looks like someone started...

    Basic Trim Tab Question Operations---HELP

They work independently of each other with the switches. Of course if you hit the switches at the same time they will move at the same time. If you are trying to lift the stern simply press both "Bow Down" switches to lower the trim tabs and raise the stern.

    Tarpon run in Tampa Bay

Here are a few pics from our last tarpon trip. Sorry for the last photo but the tarpon splashed the camera. The ladies (my wife and her friend) had a blast catching their first tarpon.
