Recently purchased the subject boat. i am very hsppy with it. I do have some getting used to though in comparison to my Offshore. The Islander seems to porpoise a bit. Have the twin 175's trimmed down a bit. Only using tabs for side to side adjustment at the moment. Any suggestions?

I said at a minimum. I only use it to launch a pull out at the end of the season and store. What would you recommend? 7300lbs?

So the 4660 is w/o engines? Don't plan on empowering right away. Has a hardtop.....no hot water heater.

Just bought a '95 268 Islander w/ twin '95 Johnson 175's. Wasn't able to perform a sea trial, did compression test Port engine ranged from 80 to 95; Sbd engine ranged from 95 to 115. Need to know the weight with or without the engines. The brochure says 4660 w/o the engines. Have gotten...

Looks like there is one with a diesel in Massachusetts. not sure if you're a diesel guy...

Any 1st hand experience w/ subject package? Any performance numbers available? I have gotten somewhat comfortable w/ the I/O's........they're ALOT less $$$ to repair or replace, and I can work on them myself. Any/all info is welcome.

Anyone have 1st hand experience w/ a 254 Sailfish w/ a 7.4L Mercruiser I/O? I currently have a '84 241 Offshore w/ a Vortec SBC.......a bit concerned about the 254 being under powered! Any/all info welcome.

I currently have a '84 Offshore I/O w/ a roller trailer. I am interested in a 272 Sailfish, which type of trailer is better? Roller or bunk and why? Thanks in advance for any insight.

Can you define *very thirsty*. I rarely go offshore. mostly fish inside.

272 Sailfish: Saw your post from a few years back. Did you eventually purchase the boat? How did the twin 200's work out? How about fuel consumption? I have a similar opportunity a few states away from me and wondering how hard I should consider it? Thanks for any info you can share!

Was really hoping for more feedback....

Just went to look at it today........did not even start the engines. Was definitely a fishing boat, cabin is in rough shape, deck and hatches were solid. Hatches were previously re-cored but the reinstall was terrible.... Looks like original fuel tanks I think should be replaced. Engines look in...

Thanks for that info...........do you know what your cruising speed is at what RPM? Not looking for a speed boat.........wonder if the 175's would be adequate?

Looking at 1990 252G w/ Twin 06 175 Suzuki 4 Strokes. Any opinions on this package? Twin 175's enough power. Looking for something a little bigger than my 24 Offshore and get away from I/O's. Asking price is $16K.
