Need input on quality fishing tools

Yes. I take everything out of the boat after each trip and clean it, but I trailer my boat. So it's a little more convenient.

Need input on quality fishing tools

After each trip I rinse them with fresh water and spray with Inox. The last quite a few years.

Need input on quality fishing tools

These three cover most of my needs. I have the large and small split ring pliers. https://www.henchmanusa.com/29_dash_701/Panther-Snips-Industrial-185mm-black/pd.php https://samakifishing.com/products/stainless-steel-280mm-multi-purpose-plier-with-gang-hook-opener...

    2006 228 seafarer

2006 228 with 2006 F250, 12" MFD, Radar and Autopilot. I'm running 2 Group 24s. Adequate for me. I do do a lot of trolling. I do carry a slighty smaller "just in case battery" (not connected) under the starboard transom seat. Haven't had to used it.

    Very Nice Minn Kota Install

A local company (Brisbane, Australia) installed a Minn Kota on the bow of what looks like a 228. I think it is the best install I've seen. No idea on price.

Looking for 228 Seafarer fuel tank brackets.

Nothing touches the tank directly. Everything sits on fibreglass strips adhered to the tank with 5200. Anywhere that the strips were adhered to was scrubbed with scouring pad, wiped down with acetic acid and then cleaned water and dried to ensure a good bond. If I could have sourced large enough...

Looking for 228 Seafarer fuel tank brackets.

There is a saying that 'Perfection is the enemy of good enough" and a couple of years ago I wouldn't have even considered using timber. I was firmly in the "do everything the best way possible' camp. Try to mitigate every foreseeable problem. Then one day I sat myself down and said "Sean, you...

Looking for 228 Seafarer fuel tank brackets.

The 10 gallon water tank is secured with pine and it looks like new even though it's almost 20 years old. I know it's original because the only holes in the compartment wall are the three holes for the mounting the pine.

Looking for 228 Seafarer fuel tank brackets.

I have just finished fitting the auxiliary fuel tank to my 228. I couldn’t find any HDPE blocks big enough here (Australia) to make mounting brackets from. So I ended up using treated framing pine. 2 pieces that span the width of the tank to the walls of the compartment. I screwed blocks to each...

What kind of hours do you rack-up?

I don't get out as much as I like but a 2 day heavy tackle game fishing trip would rack up around 20hrs. 5hrs at cruising speed the rest trolling at around 9knots.

    Fell Marine Wireless Cutoff

I’ve been using one for a number of years. I fish solo a lot. I wear the Fell Marine cutoff switch, an automatically inflating life jacket and PLB.

Anyone Running 2 Fuel Filters on a Seafarer.

Sometimes I will be running a fuel bladder as well. So one filter for the main tank and one for the auxiliary tank and fuel bladder. The auxiliary tank and bladder fuel lines will connect to the filter with ball valves to switch between the 2. I want to avoid having to disconnect and connect...

Anyone Running 2 Fuel Filters on a Seafarer.

Looking for how others have set up dual filters on a Seafarer. There not a lot of room under the starboard transom. The biggest problem I am having is where to put the 3 way valve to switch between tanks.

228 Auxiliary Fuel Tank Install. Cheat Codes.

Thanks. I was hoping to avoid cutting a hole but I don't I think there is another option. I can most probably get the hoses on from underneath using one hand but tightening the hose clamps will need two hands and I can't get two in there. Another thing. The auxiliary tank will have it's own...

228 Auxiliary Fuel Tank Install. Cheat Codes.

I have the tank in. The fuel and vent hoses are pre-rigged. They are still soft. I’ve drilled the holes for the Perko filler. I have been able to pull the pipes through. That was tight. So there is no way the hose clamps for the filler and vent hoses can be installed above the gunnel and then...

    2006 228 Auxiliary Fuel Tank

I am using the Grady White dimensions just slightly narrower so I don't need to enlarge the opening in the deck. One less thing to do. Thanks.

    2006 228 Auxiliary Fuel Tank

I’m having an auxiliary fuel tank fabricated for my 228. Across the top of the space that the tank will sit in is a PVC conduit that I assume carries wiring. Does this need to be removed to fit the tank? Thanks

Anyone tried, or heard of, a sharrow prop on a 228?

    That makes sense. Thanks.
