Water in Gas Warning at 10 hours!

Had the exact same issue on my '08 225 last year when it was new. It was a sensor problem and has not occurred again. It's weird but it seems to only happen during the first ten hours of operation on most members' engines. Maybe it's just condensation in the tanks on new boats from sitting...

Yamaha 200 2 stroke, one electronic tilt very sluggish

If you're towing the boat, both GW and Yamaha recommend you do not rely on the flip bracket to support the engine. It's fine if you're stationary @ the dock or in a slip. If you're towing go to M-y wedge.com and use one of their transom savers. I have one on my F250TXR and it works great. My...

    Need Anchor Advice

I have a 2008 Tournament 225 w/ a 9lbs Danforth that fits the anchor locker perfectly. I use about 4' chain and 200 ft of rope. Most of my bottoms in the Ohio River and @ Lake Cumberland are mud and it holds very well. Our hulls are identical so maybe this set up will work for you. Good luck!

New Boat: Grady-White Sportsman 180 (pics)

Fine looking fleet there. I owned Outrages for 21 years. They are great boats but the BW ride just doesn't compare to the GW of the same LOA. Congratulations on your new Sportsman 180!

    Sign of the times

I visited the Grady dealer, Lockwood Marine, in Jacksonville yesterday while on vacation @ Amelia Island. They had a showroom full of boats with many left over 2008 models. I spoke to the only salesman/general manager, Grant Droogsma, who could not have been nicer or more hospitable. He was...

    Great new battery charger

There's really no convenient place on the 225 to mount a permanent charger. Plus all the Guest, etc were a lot more expensive. My boat stays on the trailer indoors all the time so it' really no problem with the quick disconnects attached to the battery posts.

    Great new battery charger

Hey all, Just bought two of the chargers, one for the Tournament 225 and one for the Bass Tracker, and I'm very pleased with them. If they do what they say they will, maybe I won't have to replace batteries as often. Check them out and let me know if anyone has any other experience with them...

Grady owners need to check this out!!!

I don't doubt that any of these prices aren't true. I've been told that Sea Ray has ~40% margin in their pricing. I know from an ex dealer that BW used to have ~33% margins in their Outrage line. Remember that most of us don't buy boats all that often, so the sellers have to make it when they...

    366 Pic.

I'm just following the instructions that the M-y wedge people gave me. They also told me that one wedge on the port ram was sufficient. I think it mentions this on their web site.

Because it hits the zerk fitting if you do. The price is also better from M-y wedge also.

You can get these factory direct @ m-ywedge.com. I have one for my Tournament 225 w/F250TXR. I trailer it all the time and these things really work. Just don't put it on the same side as the zerk fitting which is the starboard side on my motor.

    Best way to avoid porpoising

Viperdrum, I have your identical '08 boat and run it on the Ohio River and Lake Cumberland. All fresh water. I have always been able to stop the porpoising by trimming the motor down and bringing the bow down. I really only use my tabs to balance out uneven loads or when the wind has really...

    Another Dealer Closing

It is very sad to hear. You mention it as "another dealer closing". What other GW stores have fallen victim to the recession?

    Draining 4Stroke engine oil

I bought a Pela 6000 oil extractor to use on the Yamaha F250, golf cart, lawn mower, truck etc. It works very well. It holds 6.34 Qts and can be ordered online from jerrybleach.com for $45.99. They are located in Cheraw, SC and are very friendly to deal with.

Jeff at GW customer service does it again

My F250 is supposed to run on 89 octane and that's what I use in it along with ring free. Haven't had any problems to this point

    Draining 4Stroke engine oil

Have you tried putting a plastic bag over the filter before you loosen it?

Jeff at GW customer service does it again

The 250 does require 89 octane gasoline but not the 91 high test.
