    Canyon 306 options

I have a 306. 1. Spray wings are a game changer, if you use them. I am a fair weather boater, so I don't use them. I am an idiot; I should use them. I have the wings and you are welcome to come see them and make a pattern, if you like. I have a SailRite sewing machine and we could take a shot...

Has anyone had experience with either of the following members? Dirtybiker002 or haywire farm?

"I have resources most buyer wouldn't have" Let's say you did the deal on 8/31. You are well past 60 days. It's time to go after him, especially if you have the resources to do so effectively.

    Dash Actuator Switch Covers

I redid all mine with new actuators from NewWire. Very happy with them. I had to make one or two custom ones.

Perhaps the mods should dump both accounts...

    Boating Records App - Aftwise

I use a spreadsheet with several tabs. I don't dislike the idea of an APP. However, my needs are pretty simple.

Wet Ride: Canyon 271 vs. Canyon 283

BTW 3' @ 5 sec is a pretty steep wave

Wet Ride: Canyon 271 vs. Canyon 283

"steep 3 ft chop at around 5 seconds apart" being candid here, not much is going to run well @ > 25-30 knots in 3' chop at 5 sec, unless it is really big, like 35'++ big. My 306 is pretty darn good, but 3' at 5 sec is slow it down time and break out the mask and snorkel if the seas are...

Wet Ride: Canyon 271 vs. Canyon 283

I have a 306 Canyon. It is very dry in the seas you describe...unless there seas are quartering or the wind is blowing just right. with the spray wings on, it's VERY dry. Note: I have a full windscreen (i.e. goes all the way to the t-top and wraps around.

Flush port becoming loose is there a tightening nut on back?

Do you mean the remote flush port? If so, yes. You may need to be a pretzel to reach it, though.

The most expensive fishing trip - 94 Marlin

Yikes! Question: do you think the access panel was not screwed down at the time the transom was replaced?

    New Marlin Owner

Welcome...location? Windows: don't start caulking them up until you have tried to replaced the seals, as suggested above. If/when you resort to caulking; making tape is your friend. Ditto for plastic razor blades Water tank: fill it and then check the bilge; the water has to be going somewhere...

Upholstery Paint / Dye Color Recommendations?

I had NAPA color match the gel-coat color and put it in a spray can. Perhaps they can to the same with vinyl paint (think vinyl car top).

    Humorous "DOH" moment

Yes. A few years ago, I put my prescription sunglasses on (need them for close up and small lettering due to getting older/old) to configure a few things on my MFD. I spent about 20 minutes adding some waypoints, renaming some others, etc., etc. Then, I wanted to get something out of my truck...

    Canyon 271

Congrats! I have the 306. The 271 is basically the same, just a bit smaller. You are going to love it. When you get it, try to see if five gallon barrels fit in the transom fish box. They fit on my boat. I out two in. One for stuff and one for trash (has a hole cut in the lid).

    sick 2005 yami 250's

As I see it, ypou options are: Option 1: Sell them as-is and disclose the rot issue. Option 2: Repair and sell them with the "hope' of recouping as much $$ as possible. Option 3: Part them out. Assign a net dollar value to each option and go from there. I would go with Option 1, because I...

    Freshwater tank cleaning

Fill tank, add one cup of bleach; let sit for an hour and then pump it out (be sure to pump it through every line in the boat). Fill again and pump out through every line in the boat. Repeat this again. Fill tank, add one gallon of white vinegar. let sit all day or overnight. Repeat pump out...

Raising helm chairs on 306 Canyon

Hi, Before making any final modifations, I would suggest experimenting with it using 2x4s. If you like it, I would suggest having well made brackets fabricated. I'd even add storage drawers under the seats at that point.

Test drove a gulfstream today - carumba

actual (not average) 2-3s should be managable, but the issue is that the waves won't be limited to 2-3s. You have to plan for building seas, etc.
