I think the yellow wire coming from the switch is what is supposed to provide power to the gauges when the switch is on.

Sorry for the delay in responding. The gauges do not power up when the battery is turned on. They only power up when you turn on the ignition switch, but they do not turn off when the ignition switch is turned off. These are the original 1991 round guages.

Thanks for the input but the controls and wiring harness were not changed out. The tack is turning off sometimes when the key turns off, but the speedometer/fuel gauge will not turn off when the key is off. Somehow the gauges are getting back fed with power. That is why I was thinking the...
