    Towing a Marlin?

Our Marlin 300 with full fuel, gear and an aluminum Load Rite triple axle trailer was about 14,000 lbs. We towed it with a Denali 2500 HD Duramax with no problem.

Only 5000RPM at WOT with new F250's!!

The new 250's have a different gear ratio, which means they are now over propped and overloaded. Grady customer service should be able to provide you with the correct pitch.

    Grady Marlin 300 Davit Project

Some new photos showing the double duty pot hauler mounted on the starboard side. The geometry of the Marlin 300 results in being able to install the gunnel mount 10 inches further aft on the starboard side vs the port side. This results in a better position for the davit and an easier lift...

    Grady Marlin 300 Davit Project

When we go cruising to Desolation Sound, we often anchor out and make use of our tender, which is an Ocean Air aluminum RIB with 8 hp Yamaha 4 stroke. This tender (97 pounds) and motor (90 pounds) is ideal for towing in calm water but we wanted a pot puller which would double as a davit to...

Marlin cracked head floor. Anyone else?

Not sure if there is a delicate way to ask this; are there any exceedingly large family members or visitors who use the head on a regular basis? The crack suggests a stress point, flexed either by weight from above or possibly hull flexing from below, due to heavy waves at speed or perhaps...

    Spring Cleaning

Haul out time: This boat is in the water year 'round so the haul out provides the chance to do pressure washing, gel coat repairs, hull cut polish & wax, bottom paint, zincs, anodes, impellers, new gear oil: https://www.flickr.com/gp/john_c_bovard_photo/19X09s...

    Side curtain recommendation?

Had a guy do all the front, side & rear curtains on our 2005 Marlin for $1200 CDN. $1900 seems on the high side.

    CANVAS UPGRADES

Re: CANVAS UPGRADES - Slope Cover Our winters are pretty soggy and we thought it would be beneficial to have a proper cockpit canvas cover made up. We used a local firm called Sea Tops, based in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Here are some photos of the project: The cover is...

    Thinking of Moving Up

The "look" of the Royal Princess is a compressed perspective created intentionally by using a long lens to do the shot. Done with a Nikon D750 + a Nikon AF-S 200-500mm F5.6E ED VR lens. Here is a different perspective (also shot with the same lens) which provides a more normal view...

    Slope Cover for 300 Marlin

You might consider using the same sort of slide track mounted to the pipework under the hard top for fastening the front of your awning. It is robust and simplifies the issues caused by the pipework.

    Slope Cover for 300 Marlin

We wanted to be able to run with the cover on, hence the rear window for visibility. I first asked about having the window removable using a zipper, but Sea Tops advised against it, saying zippers on flat surfaces tend to leak. The window is sewn in permanently. A secondary advantage of the...

Hello and trailer selection help needed

Also bought a Load Rite Elite triple axle (15,000 lbs) with almost all the options. Purchased from Beacon Light Marina in Baltimore, then shipped to Bellingham WA by a hauler contracted through U-Ship. Originally looked at Owens and Sport Trail but abandoned the idea of southern mfrs due to...

    06 F250s on a 96 Marlin?

I believe Grady redesigned the Marlin hull by enclosing the engine bay to add more buoyancy for the extra weight of the 4 strokes. I just don't remember which model year this happened.
