Our ends definitely look different. I had the two big threaded nuts. one for the cable and the other for the excess cable.

Here was my old one. It was the "SH5000 Big T" but with the threaded connections on both ends not quick connect. Just make sure that it has the proper connection for your cable. The install was easy except when the big nut on the cable slid down the cable and disappeared below the deck. :eek...

I just replaced the one on my 87 204C , It did the same thing, locked up tight, I took it apart and sure enough two-three teeth broke off and locked between the gears. Mine was the "Big T" Teleflex. Looked just like that. but my cable threaded on. didn't have the clips.

I would wonder what your hiding under the keelguard if I was buying it. Just my thoughts. If there is nothing wrong with it and you don't beach very often then why bother?

Yes Aluminum is what I use, salt, brackish and fresh.

I am going to do a saltwater wash down and separate live well pump. I fish out in the salt water but keep her in a boat slip up the CT river where it is fresh water.

Rob, Below is exactly the way my 87 currently is plumbed. With the Y-valve mounted under the port rear seat box and the pump mounted under the starboard seat box.

On my GW 204C I have the bait-well in front of the motor well. Looks like this original was fed with the same pump as the wash down pump with a y-valve to divert either to wash down or live well from the same thru-hull fitting. I replaced the sea-cock before launching boat and have not yet...
