Thanks for the reply's it doesn't appear to have done anything internally, but im going to remove the actual eye this weekend and grind out the crack to see if its something i need to do a full glass repair on or just epoxy it and maybe replace the eye with a large one with a plate that covers...

Went to pull the boat at the end of the season and found this crack below the trailer eye. It appears to just be the gelcoat, but what would cause a crack in the area other than trailering? is it a stress point for the boat flexing in rough seas? Boat is a 96 Chase.

Yes, i really like that about the boat so i actually installed a removeable livewell on the euro stern so that i can keep the storage and cockpit, im just sick of the bags becoming a mess as we use and change tackle throughout the day.

I do not have a livewell installed. I have the slides for the plano boxes in the upper compartment, but have a large open space where a livewell would go underneath that i store my tackle bags in.

Has anyone done a tackle insert into the leaning post for a 263 chase from like boat outfitter or DIY? The pull down door is nice that i can put multiple bags in there, but it ends up becoming a catch all. I'd like to put storage drawers and tackle bin holders instead.

So i finally got up the leaning post. It was bonded on the inside of the post between the raise in the floor and fiberglass. Heated it up with a heat gun and slowly pryed it away until it broke free. Will need to do a fair amount of clean before it goes back on, but its off. Now for the hard...

I think they may have used like 5200 or something on the inside seam, which after 25 years is Rock solid.

I want to re-core the flooring on my 263 chase, but need to remove the leaning post to make the floor more mobile and able to be flipped. I unscrewed all of the exterior screws and broke the seal on the caulk, but it wont budge. Is it bonded somehow to the floor on the inside of the leaning...

Thanks Dennis... There isn't alof of extra, but probably a 1/4-1/2" above the panel that needs to be trimmed back to make it flush. I'll take some pics when I'm back in front of it tonight.

I just "finished" the glass job on my panel and not i have all of the excess around the edge. What is the best way to cut this off and smooth it out so that it sits flush? ?

Has anyone converted the rear port storage bin area into a livewell on a older Chase? It looks like it would be doable, but I'm not sure exactly how it would work or if its worth the hassle.

i'm in the middle of this project and wanted to know your thoughts on making the wood into pieces? I am only doing the small rear panel in my 263 chase, I have a left, middle(with the insection hole) and a right panel. Do i need to worry about the straight cuts being a weak point?

Hey guys just got the boat and it has (3) through hulls from the old electronics.. I assume that they are junk since all electronics were original from 1997. Does anyone know why there were (3), i'm only going to need (1) going forward. What should I do with the Other 2.?

Looking at potential used motors for a repower of a 263 chase. I have a line on a pair of 140 Suzuki’s but I don’t know if they would be underpowered. I just bought the boat so don’t know 100 percent how it takes the power it’s got 150 ocean pros on it now. Any advice is helpful

For the people that paid to have this work done what did it run you? I need to get my small hatch done (behind the tank cover in front of my seat) and the tank cover had a small soft spot that i want taken care of as well.

I just got a new to me 97 chase and it seems like the area for bilge and battery access is a complete waste of space. Has anyone figured out a way to install an removable insert or something? Thoughts?
