Are you still happy with the Marlin? I have a 240 offshore and am considering a272/282 or Marlin if I can find a good deal on a used one

I ran out of $...had to make some engine repairs but was able to rebuild my cabin door and build a tackle station out of starboard. For now I’m just planning to paint the bulkhead until this winter when I replace with the 3/4” starboard.

So far the best price on 3/4” starboard with shipping to me was around $500 for a 54”x96”...the freight was less from boat outfitters because it’s closer to me in Fl. Does Anyone have a good source for 316 stainless screws/hardware? My son just started working at West Marine so I bought a bunch...

I’m using 3/4”...think it will be sturdier and less likely to warp.

Yeah that did turn out great! BTW I’m a big fan of your YouTube videos! I’m restoring a ‘79 that’s in surprisingly great shape. My surveyor said the fuel tank was sound but I’m pretty sure it’s the original so it’s getting changed. Thanks for the advice!!

I need to replace the bulkhead between the helm and cabin on my 240 offshore. I was considering 3/4 starboard but am concerned about shrinking/expanding and war page. Should I use marine ply instead and then paint it or something else? I also need to replace the door. Thanks

The boat is in great shape for its age but does have a soft spot in the floor panel over the fuel tank...that’s second on my long list after the cabin door. Third will be removing the name off the side... don’t think I’ll rename it though because that’s supposed to be bad luck and I certainly...

I finally got the boat home but it looks like somebody broke into the cabin door...didn’t keep me from buying it but now I have to either try to repair it or replace it with either wood or starboard...any recommendations? Thanks

That’s great information thanks for sharing. Planning on rewiring and changing out the fuel tank if necessary. Is there anyway to test the fuel tank for leaks without removing and inspecting?
