I have a 2007 222 that I need to install new transom tubes in. Grady sent me the brass thru hulls but I have not put them in yet. I need to get the tool.

Go with either an etec or yamaha hpdi. I repowered with a 225 honda on a 96 and the stern was heavy. I would have put the hpdi on if I had to do it over again. Matt

I called Grady White customer service yesterday and they told me the biggest fortress that would fit in the anchor box was a FX-11. They did a test with 3/8 line, 300 ft. and a fx-7 and that fit but they did not try rope when they used the fx-11.

Bama, did you ever have a hard time holding with the anchor you had on the 222? The reason I ask is I had a hard time holding last year and plan to either get a bigger anchor or more chain or maybe even both. Thanks, Matt

That happed to my 2007 222. I replaced the sending unit and everything worked properly. A grady dealer had mine in stock, can't remember the price but wasn't to bad. Easy install to do yourself also.

Bennett M120's. I installed them on a 96 209 and they worked great. That is what Bennett had suggested when I contacted them.

The 209 was a 1996 model. Before I purchased the tabs I contacted both grady white and Bennett to see what they suggested. The M120's are plenty of tab for your boat. When I put them all the way down the bow shoves into the water and my top speed drops about 10mph.

Yeah it will get the bow down and ride much better. I put Bennett M120 sport tabs on a 209 and it was night and day difference. It is worth every dime.

I just replaced mine on a 07 222. Fuel sending unit cost $85 from a grady dealer.

Bama, good luck with the search. I've been pleased with the 222 so far and I updated the E80 with the new software. I just called raymarine and they sent me an update chip for free. I even got the navionics platinum plus chip for $255 when most places wanted $500.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I would be willing to bet the majority of boat makers do not use wood anymore. I do not think it is a problem using wood if done right. Grady and Parker still use wood and they have held up well for years.

This was my second grady and I really have been pleased for the most part with both. I had a 19 tournament and sold it to step up to the 209. Was going to the 222 next but I am going to shy away from wood. Grady White makes a good boat though.

Tucker, My 209 has the same problems in the transom as you have and I also have a soft spot in the deck about 4 inches wide. I have contacted grady and they were no help, even the local grady shop was no help. As soon as it comes back from the shop it will be for sale. I just made an offer...

My 1996 209 has done the same thing. It has aluminum trim but the cracks are in the corners coming from under the trim. I have not done anything with mine yet but it has concerned me. My boat has been in the shop for a month though with motor problems and will be there for atleast another...

The plastic is not much in my opinion either. I do not understand why they still use plastic on a higher end boat like a grady?
