Yamaha Helm Master EX Single Engine

Cool, have fun, for an aviation pilot getting the feel of a boat should be quick uptake.

Hard Top vs Bimini for Freedom 235

Hardtop. A big and expensive option that you won’t regret on a new or used boat. Generally better sun and weather protection, durability, side curtain size and mounting, firm handholds, storage overhead in a bin or netting, rocket launchers, antenna/radar/FLIR/outrigger/ accessory mounting...

Saltwater fishing boat for wheelchair user?

    Gulfstream 232. Nice big cockpit.

Yamaha Helm Master EX Single Engine

Not clever, but could be modestly to very useful depending on the captain’s skill and comfort level, sea and wind conditions, and how the boat is used. I hear you on fishing by yourself, think it will be great for that. For fishing, an electric trolling motor might be more useful for some...

    Motor selection for Seafarer 22

I have an F200 on a 208 with hardtop, it’s good enough but I’d want more on a 228. HPDI 200 might be better but I wouldn’t put a F200 4Stroke based on my 208 experience with a smaller boat unless you run light, don’t have a hardtop and prop with a 4-blade.

Seating options for Freedom 235 and 255?

Bean bag. I have two on my 208 for cruising/sanbar days. I do have the walkaround cabin to store stuff out of the weathe. I have Ocean-Tamer bags, a bit expensive but well built. Very comfortable, flexible, secure seating. A pFD cushion on top of a cooler works for short trips.

Jumping out of my skin - anyone else?

I’m in the water! The heavy 20-20kt southerly on Barnegat Bay NJ today was not conducive to a fun ride on a 208 - or even attempting to fish (for me at least) with a high and tight wave setup and spray blowing off the whitecaps but next Friday should be good. It’s a great day when you drop the...

    battery

Just a word of caution which you may or may not need… If you are uncomfortable with the concepts behind 12v electrical systems or if there are questionable wiring configurations then disconnect all the negative battery cables until you confirm proper configuration. Nothing like a voltage surge...

Hardware rust on a 2022 Freedom

I’d be in touch with Grady. They may have had a run of bad pieces from suppliers. If this is a known issue they may cover all or some of the parts + labor. I have a ‘21 208 that exhibits none of these corrosion issues.

Call/email Ken at PropGods. He can give you some alternatives. Mercury Enertia? 14.7x16? Expensive.

trim tabs 2000 adventure, any input?

Definitely want tabs, I have a 2021 208. Not sure the size, I will measure this weekend but they are as installed by Grady. Most of my running attitude adjustment is via motor trim but I have had times where I have a lot of motor trim in (bow down) and still need a bit more bite especially if...

    Buying a 2005 Gulfstream

Don’t know where you are located but there is a 2006 232 at Comstock in Brick NJ. Twin 150’s @ 750 hours. Comstock is a GW dealer and the listed price is $49k, who knows what the actual sales price will be. Looks in nice condition and well outfitted as a comp to the rig you are considering...

    New model Freedom 415

I see a lot of big CC and DC boats in NJ and most of those are not going out to the canyons. Venture to guess that many never go much farther than a couple of miles out - or never leave Barnegat Bay. Saw a husband and wife pull up to my favorite lunch place in Barnegat in a big Grady CC, not a...

    New model Freedom 415

Well my 208 will be a tender for that. punching several, no many, levels above my financial weight class. I am perfectly happy to fill an 80 gallon fuel tank and run 3.5+ mpg cruise. Wouldn’t mind having that for just a day though.

    First boat

That’s a nice looking boat as well, I always like the way the 225 looks! I ended up buying a 208 with hardtop as I like the WA functionality but no denying the comfortable seating options in a small DC.

    First boat

Two nice looking boats, one is a 215 which has a slightly wider beam and more usable space, with a 200hp engine.
