Went to replace the fwd bilge pump and found 1 of the 3 wires broken due to corrosion.......could not reach where the wire broke under the floor. Decided to wire it for Auto only....... Any hints on trying to snake a new wire?

Removed the hatch over where the aux tank would be if I had one. It was very soft. The core just about came out in one piece...... Not bad for a couple hours of work.......

Where/what do I use to thicken resin?

I bought Polyester Boaters Resin from West Marine. Says not to use less than 60*...........it's only supposed to be in the low 40's today? Whats the risk if I do it today?

I have an '84 Offshore I repowered in my driveway for ~$3500 (300+HP). Granted the I/O's are a bit more maitainance but I like them......... It's a simple SBC and easy to work on. Probably burn <10gal/hr at 30MPH...........3600RPM Any thoughts?

Friend of mine replaced his garboard tube with 5200. He tells me the cure time is 1 WEEK! Is this true?

I have been painting the whole bottom of my boat each year with anti-fouling paint for years. I am hearing that it's only neccessary to "touch-up" where needed. Any/all opinions welcome......if I don't need to crawl under the trailer anymore I won't be upset.

Have neverworked with gelcoat before. My boat has a few areas I was going to repair w/ MarineTex.......and then cover with gelcoat. Not looking for a "perfect" job but something that looks pretty good........... Any inputs/hints would be great! Thanks.

I found my leak...........it wasn't the sender. There is a void in the weld on the fitting for the supply tube. Can I fix this with something like MarineTex? Or will gas brealk it down?

I replaced my fuel tank this past winter and installed a WEMA sender. Took the boat out yesterday and as soon as the bow went up I smelled gas. Popped the inspection plate over the sender and it was wet with gas. Any recomendations on some type of sealer?
