    Cobia On A Jet Ski!!

Brian- I moved from the Hampton Roads area last summer. Sadly, I subsequently had to sell my Grady (no water where I am now). However, reading your fishing reports here is a great way for me to relive all of my fishing memories while I was there. I certainly remember seeing you out and about...

    Bilge and Trim indicator

Got two questions....Is it really necessary to "clean" the bilge? Also, my engine trim indicator (digital on 2006 Yamaha gauges) stopped working today. Any suggestions on what to check?

    Crocker's Marine Closing?

A very sad day for SE North Carolina and for GW in general. I would consider Crockers among the top boat dealers, period. Nothing but a top flight organization as far as I could ever tell. Very very sad.

    Tournament 205 vs 225

I have a 205 with a Yammie F150. First of all, I love the boat. It is great for our family of 4. We tube, cruise, and I fish a lot out of it...on the Chesapeake. After I got familiar with the Bay, I was/am amazed at how well the 205 handles moderately to pretty rough water. It was our first...

    Barkeeper's friend

I have seen many posts bestowing Barkeeper's friend with heaps of praise. I would like to try it on my Grady, but I have a couple questions. 1) I have seen both powder and liquid forms...are they both OK to use? 2) Can I use them on non-skid, interior fiberglass, AND gelcoat? How...

    2008 Tournament 205

That Sportsman 180 is a great boat as well. Funny...I can say that about every Grady model!

    2008 Tournament 205

I second the thoughts on the head compartment...pretty small. However, I knew that when I bought it and for our family, it is rarely used for its intended purpose. It is, however, fantastic dry storage. One thing I wish Grady would've done differently is NOT carpeted the port bowseat storage...

    2008 Tournament 205

I have an '06 205. I absolutely love it. I primarily fish, but the family comes out cruising, skiing, etc at least once a week. For a dual purpose boat, it is tough to beat. I fish the Chesapeake Bay and it handles the chop and 2-3 footers with ease. I wouldn't hesitate to take it 10-15...

    Bolt on rod holders

Ocnslr- I love that "porqupine" shot of your 270...classic! I'm not ready to bolt on 16 rod holders....yet. I think I know what I want, but will have to look around a little. BTW, is there a functional Tidewater Grady club? I get to a website, but I'm not sure if it is functional. I am new...

    Bolt on rod holders

What is everyone's opinion of the best bolt-on rod holders for my Grady? I want a couple additional rod holders but am not familiar with what would be best. Thanks.

    Yamaha 250

There is no such thing as "reasonable" when it comes to professional boat maintenance. If you are comfortable doing at least some things yourself, it will save you thousands. Be careful, though, because some maint issues could be linked to warranty and may need to be done by licensed engine...

    cool 283 release paint job

True...but the paintjob on a Viking may very well cost what an entire boat costs for some of these lesser boat makers....

    Advance 257

I agree that more power, the better. I had an old acquiantance whose boat I went out on a few times that was a 247 or 257 with twins...I know it was not twin 150's so I was thinking it was twin 115's. Either way, I would never get 115's....just curious as to the performance, that's all...

    cool 283 release paint job

Grady doesn't change their color because it is timeless and classic. Look at all the "colored" boats from even just a few years ago. THEY are the ones that look dated and old, especially if they are not kept in bristol condition. Grady will never be into "trendy." They produce boats that are...

    Advance 257

Hey everyone- Did Grady ever put twin Yammie F115's on the back of the 257? If so, where would I locate performance specs for that setup? I rode on a 257 once that I swear had 115's but I can't remember. Thanks.

Help Needed F150 or F250 for Towing Adventure 208

I tow almost the exact same rig as you have...Tournament 205 fully loaded and I have an f150 with tow package and 5.4L V-8. It does great. Ford gives its towing ratings with room to spare. Especially since you are not towing great distances, the F150 should be fine. Assuming the F250 is not...

    Prop damage

Boat did abruptly stop moving, but it was barely moving. Skeg, gear cone, every other outward part of the lower unit are untouched...just prop blades scuffed. Do I need to check lower end seals? There doesn't seem to be any new or strange vibrations. It did seem to be a violent stop, but...

    Prop damage

Hey everyone- I hit a rock this past weekend fishing and scuffed up the very outer edges of my stainless prop (thank goodness I didn't damage the hull, transducer, etc.) The scuffs on the edges of my prop are easily buffed out. However, it got me to thinking....I hit the rock while backing up...

    Cushions

Hmmm...magic eraser did not work. I'll try Tilex. I guess I need something with bleach.
