Great unit as long as you don't need or want color. Had mine for 10 years and a friend is still using it. It was no problem replacing just tied onto the old unit and pulled the wires through the tubing
A used 22' Seafaerer with a swim platform would be a good choice. Depending on the age ( 1996 or older) would be around $20,000. In that age if the boat still has orginal motor it most likely to be a Two stroke engine.
Sometimes they are mounted inside the hull. Remove your two deck plates in the rear of the boat and see if you don't have a transducer mounted to the inside of the hull.
I replaced my wood grain along the sides with the stuff they sell at Lowes & Home Depot for porches. It's like a white vinal that they use for Porches or decks. I removed the wood grain and used it as a pattern. It looks like what grady now is using. It was very reasonable to buy.
My boat is at Harbour Marine right now, but in April thru November it's docked at my home off of 28th st behind Jolley Rodger park. Stop up Oyster Bay and introduce yourself. I usually work on Wed, Thurs, & Friday nights from 200pm until 1000PM
I use a high quality boat wax on mine in the Spring. I put 2 coats on the hull and it stays fine all year. If I do get some scum it usually comes from too many people on one side fishing which lowers one side below the paint line. I can then use soap and a brush and it comes right off.
Open Transom
On my 1998 I don't have a poblem unless I am backing up and a wake from another boat may wash over. I like the rest, keep the back splash up and it usually just runs right out
