Cabin port gaskets (both sides) on Gulfstream

Thanks for the great ideas, I haven't contacted Pomponette, yet. In the meantime, I am going to clean up the existing gasket (it HAS lost a lot of its elasticity).

2004 GW Gulfstream Outrigger Mod (or deletion)

Thanks, I like the bracket idea; no welding on the existing 1/2 tower. Is the mounting base thru bolted to the top (using the bolts seen in the picture)? Len

Cabin port gaskets (both sides) on Gulfstream

I will contact Pompannette for sure. I have tried a couple times but usually at the end of the day East Coast time (I'm in California). I haven't figured out how to add additional pressure on the glass; the hinges don't seem to have any adjustment to add pressure. I did add some tape at each...

Cabin port gaskets (both sides) on Gulfstream

Both windows/ports leak into the cabin when sprayed. They are Bomar/Pompanette models. They have 3 'dogs' that, when closed, keep pressure on the gasket on the glass. The gasket is probably original and 20+ years old (and has lost its elasticity). GW tried to find a source, but with no luck...

2004 GW Gulfstream Outrigger Mod (or deletion)

Hi folks, I am contemplating to remove the cabin side mounted sidewinder/wishbow outriggers. I use them periodically, but not that often. The poles themselves are of need for repair. I think removing them would allow me to get from the cockpit to the bow with more space and less things to go...

    Looking for info

I went from a GW 208 Adventure to a GW 232 Gulfstream. As others have said, west coast boat pricing is high. I looked on boat trader and other websites, and found a couple 232's on the east coast. I ended up with one from New Jersey and used Uship to have it trucked to Los Angeles. The deal...

To upgrade engines or Not to upgrade this is the question!

May be worth it if the price is right. They are 16 year old motors and as such, may start having issues anytime. You know the condition of the current ones you have, albeit burn fuel/oil. On the upside, upgrading to 4S will start easy and better efficiency when it is working correctly. I...

    228 is a beauty

I know you asked about 228, but thought I'd give my overall length on trailer for $hits and grins. I was so surprised how long it is, engines down. I am hoping to get to a storage yard closer to the ocean and had to tape out the overall length. I have a Gulfstream 232 and is 33'-10". My...

    Compromised photo

I found one that supposedly will enhance the pixelation. It is called HitPaw.net. I found it searching for an app I think was called Pixel that I saw on TV.

    2004 Gulfstream port-aft window leak

Thanks, I'll look into Boat Glass Specialties.

Seacock extension handle / remote operation arm length

I have one of these in both boats. I like it as it won't rust or ding the deck if dropped as it is heavy wall pipe. $20-ish so more than notching a pipe, but doesn't break the bank either.

    Outboard motor fllush bag

I have one of these as well, for about 6 months. Seems to work well, it fits my Yamaha 200hp. I have twins and flush one at a time. Although it was a bit pricey, the only other option I consedered was a 150 gallon plastic rubbermaid tub (like from Tractor Supply). I was going to the 150gal...

Used Yamaha Model 704 Twin Binnacle and Guages

The guages are from a 2004 Gulfstream 232. I added a few more pictures. The guages work and not faded (at least from the way I can see).

    2004 Gulfstream port-aft window leak

It seems my port-aft window leaks after washdown or rain. I feel that it is the gasket where the 'glass' contacts it. The window is openable. I'd like to find the gasket and replace it, before I consider resetting the window in the hull. Any idea what it is? I will call Grady at some point...

    2001 repower

FYI. I repowered my Gulfstream in 2019 from two F200 V6's to two F200's I4's. The I4's are lighter and seem to push the Gulfstream well.

    232 vs 228?

I like my GW Gulfstream 232. I moved up from a GW Adventure 208. I notice a big difference, not sure you'd see the same difference from your 228. I think the heavier boat helps in the chop. It has taken me some 'getting used to' stuff to dial it in. I fish along SoCal coast and have found...

    2007 Furuno GP-1650WF GPS

I have a 2004 Furuno 1850, and when I bought the boat it was in New Jersey. I wanted to get the card for Southern California. I bought a used one on ebay for less than $100 and it works great. The 'back up' battery that the unit uses to keep all the user input waypoints went bad. I talked...

Used Yamaha Model 704 Twin Binnacle and Guages

I recently replaced the Yamaha twin 704 binnacle and guages on my boat. (2) tachs, a fuel management guage, and speed/battery guage. Everything was working when it was taken out. Contact Len ljp3lcf@gmail.com if interested. $300 for all.
