No way a windlass would fit. I own a 216 (and I'm the Service Manager at a Grady White dealership). Just buy a Fortress FX-7 anchor. It weighs only 4 lbs, has amazing holding power, and is easy to retrieve by hand.
Grady White actually came up with this solution several years ago (I'm the Service Manager for a large Grady White dealership). I didn't come up with this solution - just tried it on my own boat and found that it worked great!
Try the condiment bottle - it made all the difference in terms of being able to just get it on the caulk and not on the deck. I was amazed how well it worked.
Cleaned the caulking on my deck with Soft Scrub with bleach - worked amazingly well! I put the Soft Scrub in a clear condiment bottle which made it much easier to apply it only to the caulk (and not get it on the fiberglass deck). Let it sit overnight and rinsed it off. Was so pleased with...
Thanks for responding to my posting.
1) how is it for 2 people to overnight?
2) what do you you do for extra seating in the cockpit?
3) how is your fuel economy?
4) does the throttle/shift position feel awkward at all as it not completely horizontal as on most boats?
5) anything in particular...
Jim,
Thanks for your very thorough response. All extremely helpful. I have loved my Tournament 275 and am sure I will love the Marlin as much if not more. Grady is a terrific company to do business with. After owning my Grady for 8 seasons, there was some water intrusion under the bump cap...
I know it makes no sense financially but I prefer to buy new. I can get the boat exactly as I want (including Helm Master). I don't have to worry about how the prior owner cared for the boat. I plan to keep the boat for a long time. Agree the Pursuit is a great boat but it's bigger than I...
I'm thinking about buying a 2019 Marlin 300 with twin 300's and Helm Master. I currently have a 2010 Grady Tournament 275 that I've loved. I want something a little bigger, with a cabin for occasional overnights. I've looked at the 330 Express and it's bigger than I want/need and the fuel...
I am considering purchasing a Marlin 300 although I had looked at an Express 330. I presently have a Tournament 275 that I absolutely love, but I want something with a cabin for overnighting.
I'm moving to SW Florida in early 2019 so I will be using the boat a lot more. Although the Express...
I have twin Yamaha 2010 150hp Engines (4 Stroke) and was out running my boat today for about 3 hours. Outbound trip (90 minutes) no problems. Return trip, I was running at 3900 RPMs (my normal cruise speed) and everything was fine for most of the trip. With about 5 minutes to go I slowed the...
I have a 2010 Tournament (now Freedom) 275 that I purchased new and which now has about 860 hours on the boat. It's in great shape for its age but for the fact that the rocker switches on the helm (for the bilge pumps, nav lights, accessory switches, etc.) are no longer legible as the white...
Re: Would love to upgrade the sound system on my 2010 Tourna
Can I splice the wiring for the Fusion remotes into the existing wiring for my Kenwood remotes so that I don't have to run new cabling?
I have a 2010 Tournament 275 (now called the Freedom 275) with almost 11,000 miles on the boat and almost 800 hours on it. It has been a TERRIFIC boat! I can't say enough great things about it.
I have a Garmin 4212 (which was state of the art when I bought my 275). I had the same feeling...
I have a 2010 Tournament 275 (now called Freedom 275) and absolutely love the boat. The only thing I'm disappointed with is that the factory sound system (Kenwood) is pretty weak. It sounds fine when the boat is at anchor, but when the boat is under way it really could use some more "oomph"...
I have a 2010 Grady White Tournament 275 (now called the Freedom 275) 27' Dual Console that has Kenwood KMR700U factory stereo with two speakers in the bow area and two speakers amidship. The challenge that I have is that when running the boat, I can't really hear the stereo very well because...
