Yesterday I could not not get the boat to go faster than 17 mph! Both engines were putting out full power. I pushed each engine up separately and got 12 on each one which is about right. But both engines at full power would not go over 17.... I'm baffled. My boat buddy says its not a spun prop...

What product do you esteemed gentlemen propose to glue down the vinyl trim that's peeled away from under the cockpit helm?

When I leave my AC on At 74 the compressor ices up. Any ideas?

My Marlin also lists to port but only when on plane. I have to bump the trim to straighten her out.

Taking the boat out the marina I powered up both throttles but couldn't get on plane. Then I noticed my starboard engine RPM was 6100! Apparently the engine didn't go out of neutral. It probably ran that fast for 2 or 3 minutes before I slowed down, put it in reverse then back into forward...

Thanks for the replies. Yes my boats sits in saltwater so I had them put on the zincs even though they looked pretty clean. By " anti fouling paint " what exactly do you mean?

Just had the pistons changed. Think I should put some trim tab zincs on them?

So I've been getting the overheat at idle problem and decided to limp the boat over to thr marina 6 miles away. For the first time, I flushed the engines with Salt Away the last time I used her. On the way to the mechanic the engine never overheated. I let it idle for another 25 minutes and...

Good info. But I'm confused. The guys here say to use hard paint on " fast boats" and ablative on sail boats.
