    Sailfish Autopilot Component Locations

Here is the final resting place have to take some Yammie control hub and other wires out of the way to drill and cut the hole. Once installed everything could go back to original locations. Bought tee fittings off the back of helm pump and they clear just perfectly. Reused right angle fo the...

    2000 272 Sailfish Motor Size

Have a 2006 282 with 2 F225 and those work fine. I would say 150s is under powered and would be an issue in rough seas.

Advice on a Soft Spot in Cabin Bulkhead

I link this idea as a first step. Look at the base of the board to your right foot on the helm. The one you would take out to access the speaker and I guarantee it is having the same issue. If not it will and I would seal that one too.

    Sailfish Autopilot Component Locations

So I got the autopilot today and the control head locations are slim. I could get a nav pod and possible get some additional locations. Only place left with enough room is the flat area below the switches. I have seen others mount them flat like this mainly on sailboats so it must be ok water...

    Sailfish Autopilot Component Locations

I was looking at it today and thinking no way the tee fitting will have room on the back of the helm. I will have to wait til they come in to test fit it. I never even considered mounting it there but you are right the room is there for it.

    Sailfish Autopilot Component Locations

I was thinking of installing it below deck in the access hatch starboard under the helm. Easy access to bring hydraulic lines down and up. Only concern I had was how far away it would be from the cylinder. If you have additional pics of your install that would be great.

    Sailfish Autopilot Component Locations

I am looking at adding a Raymarine Autopilot to my 282 Sailfish. The logical and easiest place to locate the steering pump and ACU would be in the hatch in the mid berth right below the helm. It would be dry and has good amount of room. I would probably put the ACU in this location too. Also...

Cost to replace the eisenglass on my cockpit enclosure?

I just had aj do mine. You send them the old make any change notes and $3200 later they were on my door step. Had a local guy do the final fitment. Went white with strata glass. Local guy said they used a lower thickness then 40mm which he recommends for strata. It does seem fine to me. On...

    Under gunnel speakers for 330

I used some Poly-Planar MA9020 2-Way Gunwale Mount Speakers speakers and they have been great. Even tied them off the other speaker so di not have to run new home runs. The sound great for my needs and was a 3 hour project max.

Battery Panel - Push Button Circuit Breakers

These are approaching 15 years old (2006 282 Sailfish) and I feel like it is time to replace them but only one I can easily find is a 50 AMP one from Blue Sea. Have searched and cannot find a 10 AMP or 4 AMP. Thoughts from guys on when to replace these. I could just take them out and clean...

    Grady Junkyard

Someone said there may exist a Grady junkyard somewhere in FL or down south where you can go get used parts. Anyone know of such a place? Google did not yield me any meaningful results.

    Hardtop Mounted Outriggers

I do not have anything that would help for a template. It would not help even on the same model because things can be off a bit. Also it is easy to template and build it. The Outriggers holes were done and all that mocked up dry first. Then I built the plate. All I used was a piece of alum...

    Battery chargers

I just had this conversation last night with a Yamaha Tech and we determined that if you want the flexibility to use either engine for the charging. It needs to be on a switch of some sort so only one was charging the battery at a time. He also made the observation that you would want to add a...

    Battery chargers

I agree it seems like a bad solution and it was from the factory that way in 2006. I may try to do something different. Your setup would be it except I would use a BEP distribution panel that allows either engine battery to charge the house battery.

    Battery chargers

So if I read what ProMariner said on my 282 Sailfish I could connect a 3 bank charger like in this image. Currently I have this old 2 bank Guest charger that is connected with one leg to each bank verses a leg to each battery and one leg does more AMPs than the other. I would see an issue with...

Sailfish 282 with Jabsco Holding Tank Macerator

Here is an update on this. Definitely a weird one and took some time to solve. Thought I should share so the next person finds the problem sooner. The issue end up being a simple fuse. But the catch is the panel was labeled wrong from the factory. To further compound the problem the correct...
